Aishwarya Abhishek's case is a classic example of the main porblem in indian joint familie system and the indian society at large. 1) men are not comfortable with their wife being higher than them in any way 2) daughters of the family are not empowered from the beginning in the right way, she is mainly raised for marriage. so if she has problem in her marriage she literally falls back on her parents for sustenance 3) as parents live with their married son under the same roof and share resources with him, the daughter by default falls back on the son and his spouse too 4) in this situation, parents, partly out of guilt for not empowering their own daughter earlier and partly out of jealousy for the daughter in law for being happier and more successful than their own daughter start catering too much to their daughter at the cost of daughter in law and even son 5) the husband, having being brainwashed since childhood into believing that confronting parents for himself makes him bad son, confronting for wife makes him worse son and moving out with wife makes him worst son, chooses to stay silent. 6) Most daughter in laws being dependent on marriage for their own sustenance have no option but to tolerate this oppression, they can at the most quarrel with the sister in law and nag the husband but that doesn't solve anything, except giving her the name of a bad daughter in law and bad wife. 7) those daughter in laws who are empowered enough and hence can afford to walk out of marriage do so and thereby break the family. 8) society, knowing everything has no solution to offer, but has only two narratives to peddle a) 'women are their own enemies' b) educated and earning women are arrogant, selfish, do not understand the value of family, do not adjust and hence 'educated women= bad wife'.
