You should start your own company, then. If you are a company, there are numerous tax right-offs. My friend used to own a high end clothing line that sold in places like Neiman Marcus. Any clothes she bought was a tax right off. Of course, she also hated clothes after a while. And to look at clothes was mostly a chore. My wife is the same way: She worked in the production side of cosmetics/skin care and found that she was so over it. She doesn't find any joy in it. And she finds that there is no mystique.

@@CallMeCarolyn it is about trust. Something that's very odd nowadays but still exist. There are people than can be trusted and are good at their word. My mom used to be in charge of this type of community savings and when it starts everyone agrees and picks a number as to the order of whom will receive the money first, second, third, etc. My mom really enjoyed being a part of this. The sisters (especially the older sister who also has double the salary) should definitely start with ETF and low cost index funds NOW through Vanguard or Fidelity. Ive found that it is simple to sign up online. My fear of how to start made me procrastinate for years! Also IRAS and Roth IRAS are a good idea. Compounding earlier rather than later allows the magic of compounding to catapult retirement funds exponentially. Start with small amounts if necessary, preferably through payroll deduction (cant miss what you cant see) with set amounts or with percentages that you increase over time. This is the advice Id give to my younger self. No one told me in my youth. This is the advice I give to my daughter and younger coworkers. My only regret is not starting sooner in my 20's. Great on the sisterhood living arrangements and no college debt.

As long as the debt is not something they can not pay in a reasonable time, then they are ok. It means they keep their expenditures somewhat menial. I mean, they have to right? They live in NYC. ouch!

@@consciousbeauty91 I never said he was, did I? And yes you're right everyone handles their money like they want. 🤷🏽♀️

@@Liz2613No you never said he was, but you brought him up like his opinion or cringe was relevant. People, not just you, always feel the need to bring up Dave Ramsey, so it gets kind of irritating. Have a good day.

you missed the part about the group investing, every couple of years it will be their turn and they will get about 25,000 to 40,000 in a lumpsum to start a business or invest in real estate they will be fine.

I'm confused. Where is their money going? I'm not judging. In fact most of their expenses seem to be pretty on point. But with them making so much money(especially the older sister) you'd think they'd have bigger savings.

Living in NYC is very expensive and taxes are high! A salary of $115k is not as much as people would think after federal, state and local taxes (35% - 38% or higher) for unmarried, non-parent, renters. Nearly $3,000 a month for rent. It’s tough. Taxes kill your income! Plus everything in NYC is more expensive: housing, insurance, transportation, entertainment, food. And by food I mean at the supermarket, not eating at restaurants. It’s very real in these NYC streets!

You have to understand in a lot of African families if you have two children that make a lot of money most likely just sending money to their parents she never explain where she goes oh she's travels most likely To Africa and I don't believe she's going to put that she has businesses there maybe

They live in an expensive city. The other sister travels a lot and probably eats out a lot too. Those expenses stack up. They also probably financially support relatives back in senegal.
