I think people are simply annoyed that the title was misleading. I still found the video interesting but it wasn’t what it claimed to be, “how a couple who make $142k spend their money” or “how a woman with a shared income spends her money” would have been a better title as that is what the video was actually about!

Khanh Ho most people arent attacking her, they are attacking the video and how financially, it is way different to make 52k on your own, or with a partner who makes over 90k a year, and you are splitting costs, and expenses with them to leave way for luxuries she wouldnt be able to have otherwise. Thats the whole point of the video, to show a life style with that salary. Absolutely not the same. It doesnt give a realistic view of a person living off 52k because she is not living off 52k. Your argument makes no sense and id like to say everybody who up voted this has no common sense in money handling. Its not the same when you are dating someone, to when you are married, living under the same roof, and paying bills and combining salaries together.

I live in the DC area so I can relate to most of what she's talking about. Let's just say that she'd be having a lot harder time with 52k by herself in this area. Having a husband with a higher income obviously helps.

Okay I don't feel so worried about my financial situation. My group of friends are very financial smart and have made some terrific investments with their money. I have a friend who will be looking to retire in a few years and he's currently 25. I sometimes compare myself too much but looking at this really puts in to things perspective that I'm not doing half bad at 23.
@junaidkhan-in5il6 жыл бұрын
@AllShades01 I think the advice I can give to the general public is to eliminate debt live well below your means and invest early. I'm also on track to retire at 30 and travel 3 months out of the year. Just following this will at least insure your financially independent and ahead of all your peers.

She seems to have a really good balance between paying off her debts managing bills and having fun with her money. Honestly think that she could probably move to a cheaper apartment it seems a little ludicrous that someone that makes almost half of what her husband makes is paying a full half of the rent. I don't think as a married person I would want to have a roommate but what do I know I'm not married. But yeah she seems very frugal and well put together and very smart.

A lot of people don't realize how much you can save by preparing your own coffee and tea. You can get some really great organic coffees and teas at your local store like sprouts wholefoods Target trader Joe's Tom thumb and etc and you can get a good vegan or regular organic creamer and good disposabl coffee cups. This saves a lot of money for the month. Also when you buy your own snacks or make your own organic healthy treats. also if you get your own methylating juice or you can make your own cold pressed juices and smoothies. Hack you can get a mini Hamilton Beach blender for $15 and blend your own smoothies daily. That will save you a lot of money as well. Sorry just my little rant because I love videos like this. 💙💡

Before I clicked the video I was like “hmmm living in DC making 52k??” Like yeah right! I live near DC and unless you have a partner/husband/wife or roommates it is so expensive to rent anywhere near DC. And after taxes, it’s like your entire paycheck just goes towards the rent.
@melindalaro6 жыл бұрын
Her husband makes almost twice as much as her but they split the rent equally? That’s insane. There was a time when I was making more then my husband and we split accordingly. How can you expect her to save?
@SuperBill51506 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I usually have to roll my eyes at relationship finances because people always base it on gender, but there are cases in which one partner should pay more. I would pay more if I lived with a sibling who made half my salary. Let alone my spouse. AND they're putting the same amount into the joint savings. AND he has a fraction of her student loans. It's not always about fairness. It's about supporting your partner.
