I tried this recently and got 1 ticket that had the word "platinum" and looking at the rules meant that I won all 20 prizes. Heart racing and dreaming of how much I was going to win, I started scratching off the prize amounts and started seeing $1, $1, $2 etc. Won $25. Bought more of that same one and got "platinum" again and won $20 but the next ticket was $100.

When I lived in south central Pennsylvania (Lancaster County) I lived within a mile of a "beer store". On several occasions, I would find "scratch-off" Pennsylvania lottery tickets which people bought, but were obviously ìgnorant of the rules, because they tossed the tickets on the ground, or in the nearby trash basket. I won money off of tickets I never had to pay for. It was never much, but one ticket was worth $25.

I used to buy several jumbo bucks $2 tickets every month and let my 2 nieces and 2 nephews and sometimes my daughter when she was there scratch them. We consistently won $75 to $500 EVERY month for a year. $500 4 times, anything from $75 to $150 about 10 times. We cooked 30lbs of wings and massive pots of chili all the time! Working at station selling for awhile I can honestly say the big winners go for lowest numbers 1-20….. 20-35 iffy . And of course buy 5 at a time if it don’t hit they move on or grab at least 2 more. 50 dollar and up tickets 1-10 are really really good odds to break even or at least come out on top. And if you’re badass with the cashier and not a prick I would always remember the winners and let customers know, or if someone bought tickets between 1-20 and hadn’t hit I would let customers know as well. It helps to be kind always and respectful. Hope you all get plenty of blessings and winnings!!!

If you'll recall, Matt, I posted a pic on your Discord of me getting winners on five consecutive $20 crosswords. I had bought all five at once instead of buying one at a time; I typically use the 5-ticket method myself when I buy tickets. Sometimes it works out well, sometimes it doesn't. I do usually get at least one win, and more often than not, I get more than just one break-even win (I either get a win that's more than break-even, or I get multiple break-even wins). I don't usually have as much success buying one or two of random tickets like you do, Matt.

Several years ago I was living in the Buffalo New York area, and I was at a 7-Eleven and a friend of mine worked there, and after the state had paid out so much and winnings they will call the stores and have them pull blocks of tickets. They wouldn’t say exactly which one was a winner, but they just didn’t wanna pay out anymore money. I was told, at a lottery counter, that 'the' scratch off winners are the first tickets of the roll. If you reveal the card serial number then it will reveal the amount won, if any. If it's a $5 winner then the number five will be in parenthesis in the serial number. If the winning amount is a double digit, triple digit, etc, then the numbers will show in parenthesis individually.

The guy in this video did not scratch off the entire scratch off space of any of his tickets. This would mean that the 23, thus far, 'likes' I got on my initial comment... They either knew what I said is true or, unlike you, they checked and figured it out. It's called the printing business. Every scratch off lottery ticket is printed with a serial number hidden under the scratch off space. Any numbers shown in parenthesis indicate a winning ticket and the numbers in parenthesis, in order from left to right, is the amount of money won on that ticket. Just like magazines, t-shirts, anything printed - has at least one similarity that is on every single one of whatever the item is. There's also the fact that you obviously didn't bother to correctly comprehend the very first part of the first line of my initial comment. It reads, "I was told, AT A LOTTERY COUNTER..." I did leave one factor out of the first line, though. That's the fact that the first so many tickets of a roll of scratch offs (I believe the number is ten), are the highest winning tickets. Recently bought 13 tickets in a row (connected) on the $30 VIP and all but 1 lost. The lone winner was $50. Then a few days later back to the $30 VIP ticket - bought 10 of them and all 10 lost. Gas station said they'd never seen that many in a row lose, but I've bought thousands of scratch offs over the last 20 years -- mainly $20, $30, $50 and $100 tickets (sometimes 5 to 10+ at a time) and the most I've won in Texas is $500 and those were all on $50 tickets. Years ago I'd NEVER see 5 in a row lose - now, quite common! So whatever the changes are of hitting $1000 ticket and up -- it's next to impossible. MUCH better luck playing the casino! I've got hundreds of handpays on $3 bets at the casino yet can't win $1000 on a Texas scratch off playing every week for 20+ years. We're talking tens of thousands of dollars and nothing. SO KUDOS to fellow Texans that actually have WON! Buy a ticket here or there -- DON'T CHASE - it will cost you dearly - my advice by painful experience.

I've had good luck with this method particularly with the higher dollar tickets due to better odds, $20 tickets are usually 1:3-3.5 odds so getting 2 wins in 5 isn't too uncommon and there's alot more $100 winners than lower dollar tickets. In ohio we had a $30 ticket with 1:2.6 odds , id buy 3 and usually win 1 or 2 but there were so many $100 wins id usually get my money back that i could play 3 more tickets (not right after, on another day or at a different place) and it gives a better chance to come across a bigger win. I played it until i hit $1,000 then had a small losing streak and stopped while i was still in profit.

@@madcat61207 as I said I didn't lose money on them, I won $100 most times I got 3 tickets and played once a week until I hit the $1,000 win then stopped playing that ticket soon after and kept most of the profit. The min winning ticket for that one was $30 but there were alot of $100s. I played using winnings after the first $100 win, if you can't afford to lose the first time or can't wait a week to play if you don't win then it's irresponsible to even start.

Oddly enough my two biggest wins..were on the smallest denom tickets excluding 1 dollar tickets. 25k on a 2 dollar, 1k on a 5 dollar. I get most of my 500s on 10 dollar denom and 50 dollar tickets....just made me think of that when you said your biggest win was on the smallest tickets. Funny how it works that way sometimes. Never write off the lower tickets, they can pay really well also.

I work nights at a gas station. They have the number 1 on our ticket case is a 50$ ticket. This man came in right before I closed. He said let me get ten and if I win I’ll split it with you. I said ok well I had to sell them regardless. Moral is he spen 4800$ 96 tickets among the 2 50$ tickets we had. He won 50 on one and 300$ on another and that was it. He had a huge stack of Benjamin’s so it really didn’t put a dent in it. He gave me a bengy for keeping the store open an extra 15mins but that’s crazy that he only won that. I've really never been able to win on scratch-offs to save my life. The most I ever won was $100 on a $3 ticket nearly 20 years ago when I turned 18 and could first buy them. I do like this method though and might have to give it a try at some point. I really only buy a one or two tickets every year or two, so it shows you how little I play. But sometimes, when I get together with my family that likes to scratch, I'll join in on some scratchy runs. When/if I get in the mood, I'll keep this in mind and hopefully can turn a little profit or even break even. When I do buy multiple tickets for myself or family, I've always gone the route of variety as opposed to succession, but I definitely think you're onto something here! Also, I like your attitude and that you're definitely just playing for the fun of it, not really expecting much out of it. That's how the game should be played. For me, I always expect some kinda win, so it's easier just not to buy them and avoid the disappointment 🤣. But it'll definitely be fun to give this strategy a try. Seems like a much better strategy than the random one ticket of multiple varieties that's pretty much always failed me in the past. Obviously, I'm well aware this win is probably an outlier, but I liked being able to observe the trends as I continued to scratch each type of ticket. I actually got 4 winners in a row on my $5 tickets, and one of them was $100. It was a nice bit of vindication for my terrible track record. 🤣

It’s a pattern to it, most winning tickets are won in the lower numbers, but this all depends on what state you play in, then you look on the back side of the ticket to see the odds of winning or the break even numbers. Usually it’s 1 : 3.41 , this means 1 out of approximately 3 tickets is a winner, you either break even, get the cost for 1 ticket back or win a hundred bucks or more than what you spent on the tickets you bought, normally if you have a idea of where those big winning tickets are in the roll, and like I said, in the state where I live it’s usually in the lower numbers, I can usually ask what number the ticket is on, before I think about buying 4 or 5. Usually I buy 2, and scratch the scan code, if I lose, I buy 2 more, or 1 more. The whole idea is to win more than you lose, and it’s really hit and miss.

You are so completely wrong on there being a pattern. I managed a gas station for 7 years. You had your low number players, your high number players and your middle number players and the all swore by their method and they were all losers! In my state each book of tickets cost $300 if you bought the whole thing and the payout was a minimum of $180 per book so on the vast majority of book you loose $120. Hitting the one or two tickets in a book where you might win more than double the ticket is quite difficult and purely luck on where it will appear. I have seen it one the first ticket, the last ticket and everywhere in between. If you feel lucky go with it but your chances are just as bad as everyone else's!! As a side note the books are computer generated with an algorithm to make them random so no pattern is present on which book or which ticket will be a winner and there are no numbers or marks or anything else to show a ticket is a winner.

So, I’m sure the higher prizes are located where someone wouldn’t expect them to be. But, even I could be totally wrong about that assumption too, but in any case of that matter, I do see quite a bit of people buying 4-5 tickets at a time, or they usually go off the odds of a winning ticket ratio in which those calculations can be off one or two in either direction, and in most cases your just winning back the amount of a single ticket. But, a winning ticket could give you back more than your investment, or break ya even.

I do this in Canada too, it works most often. You're better off doing it just after the brick is cracked, or right before the end. Some of our tickets roll out in 100 bricks, I usually find winners of 5x+ ticket value around 10~ tickets after brick start and around last 10 of the brick Won $250 and $1000 off a single brick of $1 scratchers. Bought the late end of the brick and a few off the start of the next, 20 tickets total

Most winning scratch offs for me have been ones I've picked up off the ground or at the top of a garbage bin at the store. I just look to make sure someone didn't misunderstand how to win. Even have found a few that weren't even scratched off. Figure if no luck, at least I'm helping clean up the parking lot. ;-)
