Hey! yes, what you said totally makes sense! One of the things my friends didn't understand was definitely how I could know that I didn't want to have sex without ever having tried it. Just an FYI, being asexual isn't a choice. Just like any other orientation. It's not rocket science. Some aces like sex, some don't. Sex isn't the end all be all. People are totally allowed to not be into it. How would you like it if people kept shoving something you didn't like in your face 24/7? Yeah, it's pretty gross. So please stop, thanks. Our lives litterally do not affect yours. So please mind your own business. Commenting on here just shows how ignorant you really are. I'm not ashamed to be who I am. This is my truth.

I think we all have a lot to learn with asexual couples. They're just perfect! It's like every couple should be like: "we're not together to satisfy our sexual desires, we're together because we love each other". And they don't just say stuff like that, they mean it, and I think that's just amazing. The couples at the end were so heart warming. I had a crappy week and that made me so happy. ♡♡ good day/night to all of the LGBT+ comunity.
@hy3na.g1rl5 жыл бұрын
Uh well for a lot of people the sexual aspects of a relationship are just as important as the romantic and that should not be shamed in any way. If people want to have sex, good for them, that’s cool. If they don’t, that’s lit too. But we don’t need to shame people for what they want out of a relationship
@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa7905 жыл бұрын
Yeah so what's controversial here is that they are romanticizing romantic asexuals and implying that sexual attraction/desires tarnishes the relationship. This thought comes from a sex-shaming society and from the whole "romance is pure" thing. It's not an entirely bad thought, but it is a bit demeaning.

i'm asexual myself, and seeing any sort of positive video on the sexuality in general (but especially by you, ash!!) just makes my day a little brighter, and makes it a lot easier to be myself. sorry that this comment is super corny, but please keep doing what you do, ash! :)

I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I YELLED "YAS" AT THIS VIDEO OUT OF AGREEMENT YEs. I'm asexual, but my boyfriend is not, he's completely zedsexual. Most people would think our relationship wouldn't work very well, but it actually does. We've talked about it a lot, and he completely understands I would prefer a non sexual relationship. I'm okay with things like kissing and cuddling and holding hands and all that. (We're young, so sex wouldn't even really be in the picture for a couple years, but if it was in the future, he understands I wouldn't want to do it.) I'm not completely against having sex for the benefit of my partner, but I do have a medical condition that makes it difficult. But like I appreciate my boyfriend so much like I just love him.

This video was so informative and well made. It shows the you care about this matter and that you put effort into it. I'm also grateful because you managed to make a question I've been dealing with for quite a while SO much easier. I sincerely hope you keep spreading your wonderful aura.

Really great video! The one thing I was missing was more talk about how we don't HAVE to draw a binary line between sexual and non-sexual feelings (: As an asexual, I used to feel a lot of pressure to only engage in activities that were exclusively non-sexual, or can be seen in a non-sexual light. One of the groundbreaking experiences I had, dating someone who is also ace, is letting go of the social need to categorize whether a moment is sexual or not. This allowed me to enjoy the physical closeness and sensations we were creating without having to categorize the situation as sexual OR non-sexual - and also helped the both of us explore touch outside the sexual script.

I feel like allosexual little could learn so much about how to have good sex from asexual people. I think when the emphasis isn't on "the sec" and more on intimacy and great stuff like that, sex is far more natural, consensual, and rewarding.

Thank you so much for this video. I've been struggling with my orientation for so long now. Like, I find people hella cute and attractive, and I like the idea of having a partner, but I've just never been interested in sex with anyone. This is the first video I've ever seen talking about how Ace people can still be in meaningful relationships that involve things like snuggling and kissing without being inherently sexual, and I can't thank you enough for that.

Before I knew your channel I knew very little about asexuallity and all of the spectrums in sexuallity. But it makes so much sense to me! I'm discovering my own sexuallity with all of your video's. I guess I always asumed sensual and sexual actraction were the same thing, but now I know that I can feel one or the other or both for a person, that its not black or white. That it does not mean I can't be bi because my actraction is different for a woman than for a man. Thank you for educating!

It's really nice to delve into the different ways an asexual individual can experience intimacy without having it be inherently sexual and I love that this kind of information is out there for anyone who might be questioning their sexuality or is interested in learning about different aspects of intimacy.
