Or, arcane worked because they have a lot of practice and time and effort and skill put in. Saying that the other adaptations didn't work because people didn't understand filmmaking is underselling some of them. Saying they didn't understand video games is borderline meaningless. This came out with perfect timing for me as I just saw the movie yesterday on a DVR recording from last week. The ending with the boulder fit so well because I expected him to throw it at him the whole time when he discovered he was trying to steal the master emerald for himself. Hilarious! I also expected that power bump to hurt in the movie after establishing Knuckle's handshakes, well done!
