How soon to change your oil on a brand new Truck

When I changed the oil on my brand new 2023 ford f150 eco boost and look what came out!
I decided to take a look at changing the oil on a brand new motor to see if the old wives tail that motors have debris or early break in wear was true, take a look at the findings on what was inside my new ford truck. I am not a certified mechanic however I believe this is proof enough that there DEFINITELY is a benefit to a new filter and oil within the first few months of owning your new vehicle

I think it's a great idea to do the first "break in" oil change at about 1,000 miles (1,600 km). No question there is a lot of wear at the very beginning of an engine's life.

Yeah there definitely seems to be. I'm hoping the mileage starts to improve too

Do you generally do things like the diffs and transfer case too for the same reasons?

I haven't in the past no. Those id do whenever the manual says to. Anything major for particulate that is in there from manufacturing should get caught by magnetic plugs.
