It should be noted that after refilling, the truck should be started & run briefly, shut off, restarted etc. And do this at least 4 times before trying to put it in any gear, otherwise very hard shift engagement is likely. Youll also get a check engine lignt until the system relearns that its not low on fluid.

Did you have a check engine light or hard shifting after you did the refill? Several other videos have said they did. Asking because I'm getting ready to do mine.

Yes the check engine light came on, I let it run and went through every gear hard shifting. After two or three minutes it was back to normal.

Have you asked a diesel mechanic why a tranny fluid and filter change triggers a check engine light and the truck shifts rough for a while?

No I haven’t. Mine only lasted about a minute or two, possibly because the transmission oil needed to circulate.

I've been doing lots of research and the AISIN transmission is the way to go. Getting all my ducks in a Row before making my truck n EZ4 trailer purchase.. I've learned so much from your channel it's been a blessing. You could have used Amsoil and did the whole thing cheaper and helped the aisins shifting.

Good video. The old old fluid was very dark. Did the old fluid have about 60,000 mi on it?

Thank you. It may be closer to 80k miles. I purchased the truck with 90k miles, I didn’t realize at 120k it needed a transmission flush.
