I was born again and never received the gift of tongues, we all have different gifts. I feel connected to God when I am praying and yielding to His spirit all day. I jave an intimate relationship with the Lord now. 🥰I just want to encourage those who may feel discouraged about not speaking in tongues. We all have different gifts. 💜

This video was such an encouraging find in my KZbin feed! It is so cool to see someone put into words how I’m feeling right now too! I received the gift of tongues last week and I’m telling you, in the course of a week my life and spirit inside feel so different and so good! I also grew up with the teachings that praying in tongues wasn’t for us today, but I prayed that God would reveal this to me if it was His will, and He did! Praise God! You radiate with the joy of the spirit Jaymin, and it’s so encouraging to see because I’ve been feeling like I’m the only one going through this since my church doesn’t really believe in tongues, so thank you!

It seems also cleansing us from sin, do you notice guys? It brings up all the corruption the more u pray in tongues, so dont stop and try to run away from ours corruption. The reason is also to pray in tongues it to grow in spirit, and also character. If our hearts are full of lust and all that, and we pray in tongues, it has little meaning, but it do help us to get rid of corruption in us. Thatswhy it is poweful aswell

Thank you for the video. How often do you pray in tongues daily? How do you stay consistent with it? I have had seasons of doing it more but it never seems to be consistent

Thank you for your question! As far as consistency goes, it probably varies for different people, but I personally like to pray in tongues in all the spare moments of the day, like when I’m cleaning my house, or while driving in the car, or even while browsing Instagram, (which might be unorthodox, lol), but it really helps to keep me refreshed in the Spirit in between the events of my daily life.

I personally like to do midnight. 12-3am, but that might not be ideal for most, I'm just a college student. But find a time and duration that works for you and stick with it, doing it consistently.

@@catherineshines I had a friend introduce me to Dan Mohler’s “Kingdom School Living” sermon. I really enjoyed the teaching! Thanks for mentioning him. 😃 also lol early on I found it hard at times to pray in tongues for long periods of time until God reminded me of Psalm 16:11 about His presence giving fullness of joy. It made praying in tongues less of a chore and more effortless. A good friend of mine once encouraged me that I didn’t need to engage my mind while praying in tongues and that also helped me to rest and allow the spirit to give me the utterance.

It takes being intentional. For me, I shut off my phone and any other distractions and sit still and just pray in tongues. Find a quiet and comfortable place by yourself that others can’t or won’t come to and just let the tongues flow.

There is absolutely nothing mysterious about Biblical "tongues" - and there is only *one* type - when referring to something spoken, they are nothing more than real, rational language(s); usually, but not always, unknown to those listening to them, but always known by the speaker(s) - it’s their native language (in some cases, it is a language the speaker has learned). _Nowhere_ in the Bible is modern tongues-speech advocated or evidenced. ‘Tongues’ (read, *‘languages’* ) - the divine gift, is the God/Holy Spirit given ability to effortlessly learn to speak and be understood through real-language barriers. It is not xenoglossy (as many people incorrectly assume), nor is it the self-created non-cognitive non-language utterance of what certain Christian denominations are producing today (modern tongues-speech).

@@joshgellock Modern tongues-speech is what it is - non-cognitive non-language utterance. There's just no getting around that fact. The "nail in the coffin", so-to-speak, is that _any and all_ phonological rules (rules governing how sounds are put together in a given language - what is allowed and what is disallowed) governing a speaker's native language, will _also_ govern their tongues-speech. That fact alone negates anything that can be construed as 'divine' in nature and cements that fact that it is a self-created phenomenon.

I wouldn't be surprised if one day you see a genuine act of tongues and interpretation and are blown away by God's power. But you don't get to dictate terms with God, so maybe it doesn't happen. Either way, the Scripture records are true. Whether tongues being spoken today are genuine or not (and to say no they aren't is absolutely foolish because you obviously can't know about every instance, let alone evaluate every instance), they absolutely happened in history.
