Nothing could've prepared me for that Ghetsis pronunciation Altho, considering that as a kid when I played I thought it was pronounced "G-het-sis" (ie, no silent h), I guess I was just as bad 😅
@Kaiwala Жыл бұрын
isn't that how your supposed to pronounce ghetsis?
@IschmarVI Жыл бұрын
@@Kaiwala the name is based on the musical interval g → c# ("cis"), also known as the "tritone" interval. It also seems to have some similarities to "Jesus". This leaves several pronunciations that all seem plausible in one way or another. He is also known as "Dennis" due to the chanting in his battle theme sounding a lot like that.

This was interesting, but I do need to know if calling Cheren Cherry was deliberate

Absolutely, other than it being kind of funny, putting two letters beside themselves, rr for example, pushes them together when it spells out the name in the textbox. Saving very, very, little time.

So basically, every single Pokemon Black/White console is presonalized, just like Mario 64 but this time for real. Also, white and black are roughly equal with slight troublesome areas at the end (Rough skin vs Reshiram) but black seems better.
@N12015 Жыл бұрын
Also, I would imagine the run in round 2 would be Sawk + Volcarona. And I mean Sawk because Stoutland won't work against Marshall's own Sawk, it'll die to close combat. Also you'll need LOTS of rare candies you can get without a lot of detour. Again, volcarona should be able to sweep due to quiver dance + Bug buzz + Psychic + Heat wave (Flamethrower is too out of your way), but Sawk will help you against rock issues.
@IschmarVI Жыл бұрын
@@N12015 you could also catch a ferroseed and sacrifice it against the sawk so that it breaks the sash while baiting CC with stoutland, so that you then can easily kill the sawk afterwards. I don't know how well the rest of the fight would go afterwards because you will be without any setup.

Ghetsis' name in other languages is G-Cis. Its a pun on a musical scale I dont get (it's G# or G-Sharp in english) and someone else can untangle the implications behind this name but the name change was sort of necessary in the english translation to preserve the original pronunciation and to avoid his name sounding like Jesus. All I can contribute to the musical side of this is that N is Ghetsis' adopted son so in a roundabout way, N is a G# minor which is a scale that appears to show up in and play up tragic connotations. We all know N is a weird, sort of tragic villain but there is another link.

Sorry to be negative, but the audio editing is not the greatest on this video. The audio keeps clipping so close to sentences starting and stopping that words just "appear" rather than beginning and ending with the natural cadence of your voice. It's making this video rather difficult to watch because the moment I get absorbed by the content, I'm pulled away by the audio edits. Regardless, great job on the speed run
