I really appreciated the candid comments on the stability of the jon boat, I owned a 1648 that I moved the seat pedestal back 2' and once you were seated, the boat was really stable, you could fish and not worry about the boat rocking at all. I just acquired a 1990 Aluma-weld jon boat, that is 18' long and 84" wide, it is going to be a quite the project, will send you some pics when I make some more progress...great video, can't wait to see the changes you have in mind

Any idea if a 48" wide is a LOT more stable than a 36" Jon boat of the same length?

If you fall in you can step up on your motor and pull yourself up that way that is how I do it and I only have a 3hp gas motor.👍

Nice build dude! Noticed your motor turns easy. There is an adjustment screw to set how tight you want it. You can tighten so it stays in position hands free. Also for balance maybe add equal weight of the battery to the opposite side of boat. All the weight in center will still be tippy. 🍻
