Set up!!, As a real motor mechanic and someone who has worked on Mercedes many times, they have just undone the injector pipes and let air in the system, then tighten them up, which needs the engine to turn a few times to prime the system then all works ok. Plus the noise on tick over (a sort of low pitch rattle) is the pulley on the alternator which has seized, these engines need a one way pulley so the belt does not jump, in the end this engine will destroy the the belt and the tensioner after a few thousand Km's. if it's already done that by the sound of it.

@@scottsmith5623 What you do to set this up is you crack the lines open or let air in the system before you film. Then start to film. It's as simple as that. Watch it again. Hope that helps. Btw what you think is not important me. I don't know you so you are irrelevant.

@Atlantic Thunder Because an engine needs to be at operating temperature in order to have the correct clearances for all the moving parts. Also the oil doesn’t work properly until it is warmed up to operating temperature. Otherwise the wear and tear on the parts is very high when revving it high, especially the turbo doesn’t like it at all
@nikosgreekman8812
@nikosgreekman8812 2 жыл бұрын
@@starstencahl8985 Nah i doubt there will be wear on the engine they were made to take it, they are old diesel engines that are designed to be run hard for better reliability because if you baby these old diesels they tend to carbon build up fast which causes even more problems down the line compared to just revving it with no load. Upon revving you can hear that the engine sounds smooth and not rattly that means the oil is doing is job well , its not going to harm the engine that much doing it every now and then it will actually clean the oil channels and burn off deposits, but if you rev the hell out of it everyday then yes it will die faster.

I had a mechanic that worked in a shop in Clarksville Tennessee very knowledgeable and would actually work with you wouldn't rip you off that because of him having property over there yet a certain amount of time to go back otherwise the government was going to sell off his property

So basically air in the fuel system, and pointless revving
@TheGhostzZ
@TheGhostzZ 2 жыл бұрын
i mean pointless no, revving a bit can remove any remaining air that got trapped, but revving to the limiter yeah that one is pointless

Isn’t necessary to bleed every injector line. Just 2 or 3 on a 6 cylinder engine will get it started, then tighten as it’s running

The air filter is blocked see by the way the inlet nose collapse starved of air, fuel filters are possibly overdue a change also.
