What I love about the Jojoverse is that while it has some power creep, it's not as bad as in other manga/anime. I also really like that in the original universe in the Stand era all villains have a consistent time manipulation power. But yeah, some Stands that seem simple are ridiculously broken if you think about them for more than a minute, which is why I love the series. It almost never nerfs an ability forcefully (well maybe Okuyasu but that's because he's not bright), Araki throws out a concept and then examines it's implications.

A thing that's always bothered me about the GER is that, well, we only saw it very briefly. There might be a limit to its abilities or some exploit that would allow its power to be bypassed that Diavolo just never discovered. Remember; Silver Chariot Requiem is the same order of Stand. It is also ridiculously overpowered. Yes, it was beaten, but that's because it had a weakness. A very observant man had the opportunity to watch it and figure something out. Given time, an exploitable weakness might also be found in GER. People keep saying it's unbeatable just because it wasn't beaten in the single instance it was used. For all we know, any one of us could take it down with just the right trick.

The reason why Silver Chariot Requiem had it's weakness was because Polnareff was dead, It had no Stand User albeit normally depending on a stand user, Polnareff himself states that SCR is, in his words: "Incomplete." SC isn't a automatic stand, and it had to adapt to being automatic, without it's wielder. GER on the other hand, still has it's user, that being Giorno.

I love that someone is finally talking about this. Usually when the topic of powerscaling comes up Jotaro, Giorno, and Dio are the only ones from JoJo’s that are mentioned. I understand that a lot of the reason why is because many Jojo battles are more evenly matched and require more intelligence than strength to win, but I believe that many JoJo characters could easily beat most other shonen characters for that exact reason. Kishibe Rohan, someone with a stand that has zero physical capabilities, could beat anyone just by writing that they can’t harm him. Risotto being able to turn himself invisible would be impossible to counteract without having heat seeking vision. I don’t want this to be too long so I’ll stop there, but Jojo characters definitely don’t get enough credit amongst powerscalers.

Moving within stopped time isn’t infinite speed, and wouldn’t imply speed to begin with as it could just imply a level of resistance to time manipulation like with Jotaro because he also had the ability to stop time. Even if it did, it still wouldn’t be infinite speed, that would be inaccessible speed as that’s what it means to move in 0 time through shear speed. That’s also false since the one who cut Hanged Man was Silver Chariot, and Silver Chariot even deflected beams from the Sun which are light speed. This also doesn’t include Part 1 which it was stated Hamon has the same wavelengths as the Sun and means it would move at the speed of light as well. There’s just too many light speed feats in JoJo even before Part 3 and regarding time stop.

W/o context, this statement implies that Polnareff cut J'Geil's stand on his own. In actuality, he had to predict where his stand would be. Polnareff: "I'm not entirely sure how it works... but he's moving at the speed of light. That's faster than any person could see. But I knew that once the kid closes his eyes, the only place he can go to is my eye! With all that in mind, I was able to figure out it's trajectory!" Clearly, Silver Chariot only had to move faster than the speed of a closing eye, not light speed. This leads into the next point, which is... 7:57 "They also fight against The Sun, and Silver Chariot reflects all of it's sunbeam attacks like it's nothing." As established in Polnareff vs J'Geil, Polnareff was unable to see his stand's flight path on his own. With this in mind, Silver Chariot parrying The Sun's projectiles is evidence that they weren't lightspeed. If they were, Polnareff would've been helpless, since The Sun fires them off erratically.

The problem with the Suns calculation is it's only taking into account the energy required to illuminate the desert, not it's attack powers. It's lasers are not very powerful as if they were mountain level one of it's lasers would have destroyed the entire surrounding area, not just the small area one of them effects. Also remember the Stardust Crusaders were powerless to stop it and had to target the user which makes the mountain level statement invalid. What also makes the physical strength of Stands questionable is the lack of large scale damage they can inflict. Stands like Star Platinum and the World (the physcially strongest stands) are able to destroy building at most. It also brings into the question the light speed of the stands as if they were able to move at light speed, the force of there attacks would be destroying everything in the vicinity yet that isn't the case. Death Battle brought this up but showed no feats that they could cite to prove it. You say Hol Horse's stand "The Emperor" shoots light speed bullets yet there are multiple thing that condradict this. We can see that it takes time to turn around and takes time to cross distances unlike Hanged Man's beam that is near instantaneous. There is also the time where Hol Horse shot into the pipes to kill Jotaro yet Ponareff had time to sneeze and Jotaro had time to move his head out the way. It seems you arbitrarilary labeled it as light speed so you wouldn't have to acknoledge how Jojo characters have dificulty reacting to attacks they don't expect. Another thing that puts Jojo characters at a level below other series is that the users themselves aren't anything special outside their tactical acumen. Unless they are a vampire or Pillar Man they, as a person, don't stand a chance against characters whose took time to train their bodies.

I do have to mention a couple things 1. Dio vs Jotaro was not a fair fight, because In-world Jotaro has plot armor during part 3, and Dio was fated to lose to the Joestars. If fate and plot armor were not present, Dio would have destroyed Jotaro. 2. Diavolo shows the singular best power a stand user has, you can wear your stand. He used it to hide his face, but it's better utilized as armor when fighting non stand users, because only stands can damage stands. So anyone with a humanoid stand can wear their stand as invisible perfect armor when fighting non stand users.

While I think it is possible for star platinum to scale to light speed I do not think that silver chariot does. If silver chariot was able to scale to light speed then there would be no need to restrict hanged man's trajectory, he would just be able to skewer it at any point that it is moving. Polnareff was only able to beat hanged man because he forced it to move on a specific path that he swung his sword along.

If SC couldn't move at all Polnareff could still just summon it with its sword on the path hanged man must follow, the victory came from restricting its movement and reacting to the person blinking, not being able to move faster than light.

Outside of part 3, there are a grand total of ZERO lightspeed feats, and HEAPS UPON HEAPS of anti feats to the contrary. Jotaro could have saved Jolyne and killed Pucci literally in an instant if his stand was actually lightspeed, but instead he had to choose between his daughter or the universe.

GER is the only character/power in anime I can think of off the top of my head that cannot be beaten. (I was gonna include WOU but then I realized it got beaten in the story) It might not be able to win every fight depending on how tough the opponent's defense is, but it would never lose. No harm could ever come to it, and with total control of cause and effect, even attempting to harm it is fruitless. It could solo 5,000 Gokus at once.

@@Jsipki265 It's not a speed requirement, it's always active, and as stated by GER itself, it works without any conscious knowledge or input from the user. Even if it doesn't activate in time to prevent harm, it rewrites reality so that it never happened. In the fight against Diavolo, Diavolo blinded Giorno and was about to kill him when the flow of time reversed so that Giorno was never blinded. Any timeline in which someone has the willpower to harm GER by definition cannot be real, because the moment they manifest that willpower, fate itself (a real force in jojo) dictates that all of their will and actions will be "reduced to zero" and then reality is overwritten to a state in which that is true.

Jotero was stronger, but he was also more tactical. It has always been my head cannon that stopping time takes a toll on your body, which is why jotero uses it as a finishing move while dio used it as an opener: since he has a healing factor he suffers no penalty for stopping time longer (11 seconds to 2) and more frequently (he literally does it like 5 times in a row during the magnet trick). So while star platinum is the stronger stand it wouldn’t have won against the world if jotero hadn’t stopped time right as dio’s time ran out. Polneref moved silver chariot so fast it bent reality to make it appear in several different places, which seems like light speed relativity to me. I totally buy that they are at lightspeed. And the argument that they move at lightspeed during time stop is wrong because if dio stabs two people with two knives, one after the other, they simultaneously get stabbed when time starts again meaning that it would be infinitely faster then light speed. On the subject of dio and knives I always liked how the knives moved when he threw them and then stopped as the skin cells that were still alive on the knife (and thus keeping it in time stop) die and the knife freezes.

Ultra Instinct could probably beat Tooru on a couple of different levels, not least of which is the fact that damaging Goku would require a calamity likely to destroy Tooru as well. You beat Requiem by either not attacking or being literal god. Tusk? Don't get hit. Peak Superman could beat Love Train by virtue of possessing infinite physical strength, though ironically not D4C itself.

It is a tier list really. GER and WoU are just bullshit that solo the rest of the series if not for the bs counter of go beyond and maybe Tusk 4. Then you have final boss tier with the world and king crimson, the top of this is Kars and MiH. Weather report is good enough for this tier in that he legit straight up can kill king crimson if the fight starts with enough range, same with the world. Tusk Act 4 is good enough for this tier but just barely, makes sense since he can overcome the world and D4C but is not as decisively busted vs everything as these are. Then you have just beyond stardust crusaders, aka you can beat Avdol, Kakkyoin, Polnareff and Josuke. Here you have Cream, White album, The hand if its user was less dumb and actually ruthless and killer queen with sheer heart attack. Then you have stardust crusader or decent jobro tier aka Avdol, Fugo(he is useless but his stand is strong), Kakkyoin. My boi gyro making all jobros look like trash in that he belongs to final boss category more or less, same goes for weather report though. Lowest of this tier as a cut off is Polnareff. Then you have typical villain of the week and the typical jobro level and then even below that you have jobbers/part 1. The Esidisi I think is average jobro level and Whammu is decent jobro level. So if we go by what Esidisi or Whammu can do to soldiers and what it took to get them to pay attention, you could compare the average jobro in terms of power to say Stroheim with his upgrades if I had to gauge it. The highest tiers just deal with bs hax that cant be overcome normally but their destructive power is still dogshit. Yeah they overcome Satoru Gojo but cant exactly cause more destruction than him. A good way to gauge it I think is could the stand user beat a gunship or a tank in terms of brute force or speed. For star platinum in force sure, in speed without timestop I am not too sure it can deal with getting gunned down by a gunship anymore than Kars could deal with Stroheim for example.
