Garp is getting jumped by 100+ pirates while saving his squad, and outperformed kuzan in every 1v1 situation on panel. So using the canon facts garp win high diff in a clean 1v1. Garp also never made any attempts to kill kuzan. Since he would’ve hit him with a galaxy attack, when he blitz him while nerf to go after pizzaro. But instead he just bulldozed his way past him, which show killing kuzan was never his priority. While Kuzan confirmed he thought garp was died, and it was a team effort to take him down for those who believe shiryu stab did nothing to slow him down.

I prefer the manga version, Garp's attack looks more like a shockwave in the manga which is consistent with other showings of armament and conqueror haki attacks infusion. The anime makes it look like Garp has a devil fruit with an explosive attack, and it looks more ridiculous when none of the fodder below are death, but buildings were being pulverize into dust. I really hope the One Piece anime remake stays closer to Oda's vision and restraint all the unnecessary flashy over the top auras, and stick to one color for advance conqueror's haki. I honestly think Oda was saving the flashy auras for endgame villains like the Gorosei and Imu, but when we get there in the anime, they will have to go so over the top with auras that the whole screen will be flashing, giving epilepsy warnings during broadcast.

KOL, you need to rewatch the galaxy impact scene. It's a shockwave in the anime also. If you slow down the video, you can clearly see the impact that hits the ground is from garp punching from the very top of the energy dome. Just clarifying cause it seems you don't realize it's shockwaves in both cases. You can also see it in the anime when garp launches the boat. It's clearly just air force from his fist (which is what a shockwave is). At first I thought in the anime that Garp actually comes crashing down to the ground, but if you watch closely, he doesn't. Also it's silly to classify something as a shockwave vs not just because of a specific visual effect. It may be depicted as a more concentrated shockwave in the anime, but it's still a shockwave. I think it's getting too much into semantics to say his punches don't create shockwaves. He can clearly destroy things with his fist without his fist touching them, even from very far away. I think any real differences in visuals between the anime and the manga are intended for cosmetic spectacle, not to actually change the way you perceive the strength of an attack. I feel the same way about the disintegrating/melting buildings vs just breaking apart. I would argue they are melting in the manga also. It's just that we are getting 1 single frame, so you can't tell that's what's happening. If you look near the top of the buildings in the manga panel, there are some tiny pieces in the act of disintegrating. The buildings that already melted are inside the blue energy dome. You lose context with only 1 frame. That's all.

The K.O potential of that attack is more confusing anime wise, Its a good attack so galaxy divide and probably when he was younger these were finshers, but fodder are getting back up and more annoyed than anything. How can you not tell that Koby's honesty impact is weaker than Garp's Galaxy impact? The amount of Destruction that Koby is able to generate is in a straight line. It's about the same width as his entire body. It's length is about 20 Koby's in a row. I may be off by a few it's been awhile since I looked at it. Either way you could count the amount of Kobe's that fit into that single line of Destruction. Garp looks like a DOT compared to the impact. Also there's a very clear difference between garp's attack and Koby's attack. Kobe's attack is close range. He makes contact with the target. Garp does not. It's a long range attack. It's not 100% clear how it happens in the manga, but the anime shows it clearly. When GARP does Galaxy impact it sends down a little black disc that almost looks like a Bala from bleach. When that little disc makes contact with the ground, that starts the fiery shockwave. Imagine if he was any closer to his actual Target which was the ground. What if he was only 100 yd in the air? What if vice admiral GARP punched it Point Blank just like Koby did to the hand? How much more destruction would that have caused? Fair power scaling indeed

what narrative reason is there for garps attack to not actually take out all the fodder instead of just making em fly and leave almost 0 scratches?

I think Roger's Kamusari, Whitebeards ACoC, Garp's ACoC and Rayleighs ACoc are all the same, strength-wise. BB is above them rn, and it's up to Luffy to surpass him.

Your analysis fell apart from the moment you said gard was using conqueror's Haki. Only Sangoku is a confirmed conqueror's Haki marine user. Another thing, every time conqueror's Haki is used in the manga, either we have people saying it, or people fainting and foaming through their mouth

Even whitebeards entire world tilting attack at marineford in the end resulted in 0 bodies ... Not even a single marine or anyone was shown to be unconscious or anything of that sort... Thats just how Oda draws stuff and that doesn't make the feat anyless impressive... What garps feat showed was mastery of haki unlike any we have ever seen ...the no contact in that scene was so large compared to other same scenes
