Once Wolverine started going popularity in the comics they nerfed the hell out of Sabretooth and he became weaker and weaker. Growing up as a kid I remember all the old comics where he used to hunt down Wolverine on his birthday every year and kick his ass. Its been reversed ever since the late 90s.

fun fact Sabretooth's outfit was actually a hand me down Wolverine beat up a Shiar alien with similar powers , and stripped him down for the outfit, because his yellow costume was too damaged. When Wolverine got back to earth Sabretooth beat him up , and stripped him of this new costume , and has worn it ever since. Wolverine still liking the color scheme wears a brown version of his yellow costume.

In Marvel, many mutants with a healing factor also carry the feral-gene which makes them more beastial and mindlessas time goes on with no hipe of going back. Only way to supress the feral-gene is to overcharge their healing factor with constants stress like adamantium skeleton as Wolverine or cancer like Deadpool. Ironicly enough, Beast is the only mutant with a healing factor who doesnt carry the feral-gene...

Metals like vibranium and adamantium can level the odds for characters who aren't physically as strong as who they're fighting. Same goes for Thing's rock-like plates allowing him to take huge beatings from much stronger characters, his plates are more comparable to Uru, the metal that Mjolnir is forged of, looks and feels like rock but it's a unique metal more dense than diamond and more durable than Colossus' shiny biosteel skin.

Cap can lift 3tons his striking power serum super speed with sheild 5-10 tons of force, Wolverine lift 6tons with skills and striking power 8 tons of force, Sabre tooth I think he can lift 10tons with his upgrade.15 tons of striking power.

Sabretooth is a badass, however, in just about every example that was talked about, Ironfist beat his ass and ironfist was blinded at the time. Luke cage almost killed him and would've, if ironfist had not stopped Luke. Archangel nearly cut him in half, after Warren had been shot ,with a high powered sniper rifle and poisoned by sabretooth's poison-tipped claws, shadowcat totally kicked his ass (embarrassingly so). Also, just because a writer occasionally exaggerates a character's ability, doesn't mean the character can accomplish that task on a regular basis. Unless he is in possession of adamantium claws there's no way in hell he can cut luke cage or thor skin, never mind the hulk's. Yes, he did take both rogue and even ms. Marvel out in fights: in rogue's case she was taken completely by suprise and overwhelmed by his speed and savagery before she even new what was happening, when he fought ms.marvel it was way back when her power set was the same as captain marvel and could only lift 10 tons and was not as resilient as she is now. There have been times when wolverine took him down in one move and wolverine was able to beat him done when sabretooth had adamantium and wolverine didn't have adamantium on several occasions. My point is as powerful as sabretooth or any other character is, they can be beat at any time, I've read comics where sabretooth had a hard time beating chump's like the komarovsky brothers. Let's not forget how much of a pussy he was when he was teamed up with the constrictor ( I'm sorry frank, please don't be mad, I won't do it again, don't leave...said after he attacked misty knight and she broke sabretooth's ribs and almost ruined the job constrictor had lined up). Yes, the marvel characters have all been amped up and are more powerful now and honestly, I think that sabretooth is one the most interesting characters that marvel has, however let's be honest he's nowhere near as powerful as some people would like to suggest.

Depends which members you're talking about. Magneto, Colossus, Magik, Emma Frost, Namor, X-Man, both Phoenixes and Doop are classed superior to Sabretooth. While Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Marvel Girl, Professor X, Polaris and Sunfire are classed as his equals.
