Saitama has limitless potential, not limitless strength. Goku also has limitless potential, which has clearly been shown over the years, going from city level all the way up to multi-versal Goku in base form is Universal. Saitama is star level to galaxy level. I don't see Saitama winning this if Goku goes straight to his strongest form/technique MUI, since that's easily multi-universal, but lets say Goku just stays in base form he'd still be massively faster, stronger, skilled, experienced, etc. then Saitama is.

He didn't sneeze in space. He sneezed on a moon of Jupiter, which does have an atmosphere. The best you can say is that he is capable of breathing gases that normal humans are unable to breath. However, the fact that he had to hold his breath when he got kicked to the moon (which has a far less dense atmosphere than most moons of Jupiter.) tells us that he still requires atmosphere of a certain density in order to breath.

Toxic fanbase (fanboys) of DB will disagree. I love dragonball, and grew up with watching goku and also rewatched the older series goku kid. As a charackter I million times over like goku more than saitama as a charackter. But strenghtwise saitama wins. The easy explanation to that is just because the "creator" or whatever of OPM decided it so. He just said that the charackter saitama has limiltless strenght. You need to understand the simple logic of this. All the debates and arguments are pointless. I could literally just sit down and draw a stick man and just say: "This is the strongest charackter...just because he is.." and that's it. I would have created the strongest charackter ever. Thats what the creator's of OPM have done. Just created a charackter and gave him abilities that makes him too OP. No one compares goku with charackters from saint sayan saga. It's the same thing. And even if u went into detail to try to explain why saitama is stronger, that woudn't be a long debate. Saitama has received 0 damage or injuries from any of his fights after he broke his limit. If goku was hit with the same attacks, he would definetely take damage. Just by comparing their durability you see the difference. You could say saitama is a somewhat of an looney tunes charackter as he breaks the very "laws" of his own verse just to demonstrate how strong he is. There is no atmosphere in the universe so no matter how strong he sneezes, there woudn't be any air he could compress/push to do what he did to jupiter. And yet he did it. That has nothing to do with strenght anymire. That's just the pure will of the creator deciding that his charackter (saitama) can do that. If 2 manga creators were to sit down and have a talk about who's charackter is stronger it would be a short debate. Because they know that they could just take out their pen and add a skill or ability to their charackter that makes their charackters OP (ofcourse they woudn't do that), rendering the whole debate useless. At this point, anyone who still says that goku is stronger has a major flaw in their brain that makes them unable to understand the very logic that these strenght comparissons are pointless. Not at all how that works. Saitama's time travel had nothing to do with his power. It had to do with the technique that Garou taught him. Furthermore, time corrected itself forcing Saitama back into one being, which means that he is still bound by time, so even if you really want to stretch the hack into a feat, its till directly contradicted. That said, even with that Saitama wank, he is still getting stomped into the dirt by DB characters. Even Buu was capable of accidentally tearing a hole in reality between two completely different space times, which puts him at 5d. And that is before we get into the cosmology of Dragon Ball which gets just completely nutty (for context, if you include a low ball for Dragon Ball's cosmology, Buu makes outerversal look pathetically weak.).

That is only sort of true. If you are just saying that one is stronger than the other, and leaving it at that, then yes, it would be speculation. However, feats are not speculation. Feats are calculable, and you can compare calculations without speculating. The fact is, Goku's feats are so much higher than Saitamas, that is doesn't matter if you want to make the argument that he performed his feats without trying (which is false when you look at his best feat, but that is a different topic.).

Even then, Goku even in buu saga still solos as scaling from Buuhan and Kid buu you can easily get goku to low multiversal at best as they can destroy multiple infinite sized realms. In battle of gods his Low Multi in base which in later arcs he surpasses by at least septillions of times.
