0:51 not to defend Megumis bum behavior streak, but he did have a reason to use his domain. So we know that Domains are easier to break into than out of bc they are weaker on the outside, we even saw that when Yuji busted through Mahitos domain to save Nanami, but there are a couple problems with Megumi trying a similar strategy. 1. Megumi is on a timer, and doesn’t understand the nature of Dagons sure hit and how long he has to counter it before his ally’s die. Once a domain is cast most users immediately use their sure hit, as well as the fact breaking in would be slower than challenging with his own domain in terms of halting the sure hit. 2. Breaking into a domain doesn’t break the barrier entirely nor does it negate a sure hit on its own. Yuji survived breaking into Mahitos domain bc it forced him to touch Sukuna, who attacked him, with the damage causing his barrier to collapse. I’d he’d just broken in, all he’d have done is stick himself inside dagons domain and made himself vulnerable to his sure hit effect. By creating a domain “clash”, it forced Dagon to stabilize his domain over using its sure hit since he had to wrestle with Megumis domain. He also knew he couldn’t beat Dagon in a true domain clash, so he used his domain to allow him to create a hole leading out of both.
