It began at 10pm on Thursday evening when exit polls predicted a Labour landslide.
It ended at around 4.40am when Prime Minister Rishi Sunak conceded defeat to Sir Keir Starmer.
In between, a slew of Conservative heavyweights such as Liz Truss and Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg found themselves out of a job as the political map of the UK changed from blue to red.

If Labour fails to deport millions of serious criminals, then Labour will be booted out en masse very quickly. Lags like Lawangeen Abdul who hurt Tommy Roberts & Mr Aleed of Teeside, who hurt a pensioner. Only 1 in 5 voted 4 Starmer. 2 in 5 refused to vote at all. Kemi is despised by most righty voters as she backed big election loser Sunak in two Tory Boss elections & that is a very worrying decision making pattern for Tory voters.

No one is surprised, but the devil is in the details. Labour have won a massive majority with only a third of the popular vote. As the video showed, one winner of a constituency was booed by a vocal highly motivated minority. This election highlights the deep divides within the populace and the result is a consequence of people voting against something they don't want rather than voting for leadership that they believe in. Winter is coming, I fear, for all the houses.

Sunak has simply washed his hands of this country, he will scuttle off with his pockets filled with the money he has made, sat on a beach with a cocktail in hand laughing with his wife about how he screwed us all and at the horrid mess the now Labour party have to deal with. On a positive note the atmosphere in my local Morrisons is filled with relief that the Tories are finally out, the energy has shifted and people are feeling somewhat positive for the future, they are not delusional as they know it going to be an uphill struggle to get this country back on it's feet.

Wish the smaller parties much luck, particularly the Greens even if their vote count was petite. The Tories have no one to blame but themselves on their loss.

@@rangersnuttrue, but we’ll likely be praying for a return to those Tory years after Labour get their claws into the country. Taxes will soar, money printing will ramp up and most people will be worse off simply because politicians don’t understand how the economy works.

@SarahJones-i2q or "indeed" is a word in the dictionary open for all to use. Seems odd to me that just because I am poor I'm not allowed to use the word indeed. What can I say, where I live in the North East ppl leave books in old red telephone boxes for free exchange. I like to read.
