Cold-pressed or unrefined sunflower oil retains more of its natural nutrients. It contains the largest amount of vitamin E in contrast with other oils and products in general, and therefore is healthy for consumption. Seed oils are healthy for consumption if they are not processed. Take flaxseed oil as a relevant example. It is replete with omega-3, and has other health benefits, including the reduction of atherosclerosis, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, osteoporosis, autoimmune and neurological disorders

He said it was sold in thick dark green bottles and the texture of the oil was almost that of a maple syrup, deep yellow and it smelled of actual sunflower seeds. I encountered such quality only once here in Greece, from a family owned press, who also sold olive oil. It was amazingly delicious for salads. Very close to sesame oil, but less intense.

If the oil is clarified at high temperatures towards the end of the process to eliminate odours then it negates the whole cold press process of trying not to heat the oil by pressing. In any event, if the end use of the oil is to be used for frying purposes then it is irrelevant whether the cold process to extract the oil has been applied.

you have not idia what you are talking about do a research on the hydrogenation process. is not the frying when you are cooking that is bad what is bad is the hydrogenation proceess that they do specially to these type of oil because is one of the most popular hydrogenated oils out the r compared to soy oil and corn oil and then sunflower oil. these 3 oils specially are hydrogenated, plus they just do not go with the hydrogenated process's after that they do a process's called bleaching which they use chemicals in the same chemical family like bleach. they use the bleaching process's afther the hydrogenation process because the oil is so rancic they have to use bleach to removbe any particles left and not just that to get rid off the rancic smell that the oil has after the hydrogenation process. Coild press is gpoing to be 100% the best and not just that 100% healthy. Some people called hydrogenated oils "FAKE OILS" i just call them Synthetic oils just like the company that makes 100% synthetic oil for cars AMSOIL when theyu created the 100% synthetic oil they called "fake oil" at that time they did not know how to called the oil so they just called it " fake oil" because that oil was not fopund on nature like on the ground it was man made oil or fake oil but today we call it 100% syntetic oiul. so my point is that all those corn and canola and soy and sunflawer oils if they look like water and are to cheap that is how you know is hydrogenated oil or fake oil or synthetic oil not founmd in the eco system or nature is man made. One to know one secrect guess what is the process to make 100% syntetic oil for cars...........................you guesss it right they or in this case the company Amsoil they use the hydrogenation process to make crud black oil from the grown and they turn it into syntectic using the hydrogenation process basically they fuse some hydrogen molecules to the normal molecular stucture fond on the crud oil they add some or fuse some hydrogen molecules to the crud oil and high presure and tempetures to make that original molecule found on crud oil to be stonger and more resisten to oxidation. So yeah when i see people cooking with corn and soy and canoila and sunflower oils i tell them you are cooking with synthetic oil something that is allmost no diffent from m cooking with engine oil, but of course engine oil is bad it will kill you faster people please do not cook your food with engine oil.

Sunflower oil is indeed high in omega-6 fatty acids, which are a type of polyunsaturated fat. Omega-6 fatty acids are essential for health, but they need to be balanced with omega-3 fatty acids in the diet to avoid potential inflammatory effects. @lrn_news9171
@lrn_news9171 11 ай бұрын
@@lambertois11 I've literally read studies on this. There's been studies on the fatty acid profile of all types of olive oils. Extra virgin is from 74% to 80% monounsaturated and 3% to 4% polyunsaturated. Pure or regular olive oil is 67% to 79% monounsaturated and 4% to 10% polyunsaturated. Promace olive oil 75% to 76% monounsaturated and 7% to 9% polyunsaturated Pure 100% refined olive oil has nearly the same profile, except that it lacks the minerals and vitamins in extra virgin. Another study showed that Refined olive oil was 70% oleic acid and 1.5% linoleic which is what really matters at the end of the day, that it's not high in linoleic. Extra virgin had half of a percentage point less linoleic which is a negligible difference
@lrn_news9171
@lrn_news9171 11 ай бұрын
@@lambertois11 You're also wrong about the process for producing regular refined olive oil. You're describing promace olive oil, which isn't sold in stores typically. Extra virgin olive oil is cold pressed and the oil is extracted directly from be olive and it goes through a filtering process (filter out the sediment). That's it. It's the purest form of olive oil. Some of that cold pressed olive oil is going to be used to produce refined olive oil. In this case they heat it up and use natural clay, or charcoal and steam to create a light flavourless olive oil and then they add a little bit of extra virgin to the oil to add a mild flavour. That's labeled as "pure olive oil" Or extra light olive oil which they don't add extra virgin to it. For refined olive oil they use cold pressed oil that doesn't meet the quality standards for extra virgin in terms of taste etc... The third type is promace olive oil. This one is difficult to find in stores, it's mainly used by manufacturers because of the cheap price tag. Basically they use the leftover pulp from the cold pressed extraction to extract the rest of the oil left behind with solvents like hexane. In other words they use chemicals in the process to extract all the rest of the oil and it's labelled "promace olive oil"

Two major curiosity about America's food supply system I have, one is with these enormous lands to grow all kinds of crops, how there are ppl living and depending on food stamp due to their lack in food? And how come food manufacturing companies produce less qualified unhealthy processed foods with so many toxic chemicals (maybe to reduce the amount of good quality ingredients to save money?) and they are dominating the whole market system? That's the mystery still I can't solve yet. Btw, I've got my own sunflower oil in my house. It's imported goods from overseas. I guess that it might be originated from America cause they have planted sunflowers in vast areas. Anyway their quality is pretty good, I'm using them for cooking and I'm very satisfied with their quality, almost transparent clean subtle yellowish liquid with no particles inside and pleasant aroma as you see.

Love your channel. Fascinating video! I would like to know who realized they could perform a deodorizing step? That's brilliant! Also: what happens to the flavor of the oil if the seeds are not toasted? I only like toasted, salted sunflower seeds, so I wouldn't be surprised if untoasted seed oil isn't very flavorful.

One of the reasons that the majority of people are dying from heart attacks and cancer. This is a concoction of heavilly oxidised and rancid fats, exposed to high heat, and have no protection from oxygen due to them being "polyunsaturated." A healthy source of inflammation, in a plastic leaching bottle 👍
