Eh, it matters what your looking for in a paper Mario game, it was never supposed to look like a crafted world (Yoshi gets away with this because it WAS supposed to be crafted) I think that’s how SS and CS broke from the series, they tried TOO hard to be paper (I guess they put more emphasis in paper instead of Mario) I do agree TTYDs art style was in my opinion the best, but CS looked more smooth and nicer, that’s what I meant

Ok, I've been waiting to say this. Super Paper Mario removes the RPG mechanics from the series, so many people consider this game the "downfall" of the series. I disagree. Yes, the game has it's problems, but the good in this game outweigh the bad. This game's story is just as good as TTYD. Maybe even better. Yes, it adds new ideas to a old, perfectly fine concepts. Sunshine, Galaxy, and Odyssey did this, and they ended up being big hits. So adding new additions have sometimes succeeded Sticker Star failed because it feels like a NSMB game, and it's RPG mechanics failed for obvious reasons. And Color Splash was a bit better, but still used the same dumb "limited moves" mechanic. 64 and TTYD focused more on battling then platforming, while Sticker Star and Color Splash focused more on platforming, and had a rushed battle system. But Super stands out for being a full-on platformer (with one exception), with a great story, with only about 15 characters and enemies from regular Mario games. I can see why people don't like it, but I hope people can see the good side in it. It's funny, it's unique, it has a GREAT story involving every main character. While it's not the best Paper Mario game, it's definitely surpasses SS & CS, and maybe better than 64. It's a solid 8/10 experience and a underrated Wii hit.

Agreed. While Bowser and Grodus were intimidating, Super actually gives the villian's personalities. Mimi is very cute, and her spider form is terrifying for a Mario game. O'Chunks is the "dumb assistant", but they actually DO something with him, Count Bleck and Tippi's arcs were beautiful and very mature for a Mario game, and Dimentio is one of the few twist villian's that ACTUALLY WORKS.

When you think about it, undertake has a lot in common with this game, especially the characters, Eg. Silent protagonist who is foretold of in prophecy (Mario/Frisk), Main antagonist who doesn't truly want to kill you and shows mercy in the end (Count Bleck/Asgore), Psycopathic murderer who shows up at the last second and attacks main villain to consume their power, has similar abilities to protagonist (Dimentio/Flowey), Nerdy Lizard who likes cats and anime (Francis/Alphys), Spider girl (Mimi/Muffet). Also, just going to point out that Deltarune's Card Castle looks just like Castle Bleck.

I love this game. Its story and characters were so memorable to me (looking at you, Dimentio and Mr. L) and the gameplay felt better to me than Thousand Year Door. Though, at the time of playing TYD, I was a kid and was really reeeeeaaaaaally bad at RPGs. If I played it now, I'd probably like it better than back then.

The next paper Mario game on switch should go back to its rpg roots, have bowser playable, have peach playable, maybe Luigi playable, bowser not being the main victim, more partners or having the old ones coming back, have some returning bosses like Dimentio, Mr. L, Chunks, Heav- I mean Lord Crump, a dark version of Count Bleck, Hooktail, etc, good story line like Super paper Mario, actually let me into paper mario’s House this time, maybe have Dimentio be the main antagonist, and no cards no stickers. There are a few things I disagree with: 1) The first complaint: why would a game change its key features? Well, if I don't remember wrong your favorite game is Super Mario 64, which effectively changed almost all of Mario's key features (keeping only the jumping intact). 2) Super Paper Mario tries to mash multiple genres in order to break the fourth wall and to parody these genres' staples and even the real world. It's actually pretty clever if you ask me. 3) WHY DOES EVERYBODY ALWAYS FORGET ABOUT THE ABSENCE OF PRESSURE IN SPACE?!? THAT'S A KEY FACTOR OF SURVIVAL IN OUTER SPACE! The last one was kind of a joke (or wasn't it?) but the other two points do still stand. What I'm trying to say is that it isn't necessarily wrong to have spin-offs or games that greatly turn from their predecessors' key features. I'd rather find worse the fact that games like Paper Mario: Sticker Star or Paper Mario: Color Splash try to be RPGs while miserably failing. Anyway, I didn't dislike this video because, even though I disagree with most of its content, disagreeing with someone isn't enough to make me dislike all the effort put in a work of quality like this one.
