Yeah, there really is a matter of some people just having "it", you know? It can hurt when someone works at something and someone else just catches on quickly and innovates faster, but it's often someone just stepping into what they're meant to do, or who they're meant to be. We gotta always work on appreciating stuff like this instead of becoming jealous.

The produced majority of its dark and hell is hot and swizz made the hot single but only Swiss got the notoriety from the album. A big thing you don't really hear in a lot of hip hop documentaries and even less concerning things from the city itself is that Atlanta was really an integral crockpot and weight station for an enormous chunk of hip hop. You'd never know that from listening to the radio there now, but it really was the epicenter for a lot of hip hop artist from all over the country, and it seems like very few people highlight that. Either way I'm loving this documentary.

Because of Erick Sermon. There was no Hip Hop scene in Atlanta until he got there.

Pk a hater. Swiss stayed locked in and focused on his craft and became a legendary producer that’s still giving us bangers. Prime example to always work hard and keep doing what you love
@MaadAzzGang4 жыл бұрын
Idk about all that. Swizz worked/works hard yes, but he obviously got ahead & given more shots him being their family. He wasnt a solid producer & overall is what made RR sound sound dated with them cheap casio beats (a few exceptions tho!). Grease & PK were more established & had produced more & for bigger artists already, at least Grease.
@andrewpeterson2854 жыл бұрын
MaadAzzGang I get what you saying, but keep in my mind, outside of ruff ryders, swizz made beats for Memphis Bleek, Cam’ron, Nore, Busta Rhymes, flipmode squad , and the lox while they were on bad boy. Did his uncles look out to a certain extent? Yes but his uncles made sure he proved his self before throwing him on albums. They threw one of his beat cds out the window lol. What has PK done recently? Dame grease is still producing and putting in work
@MaadAzzGang4 жыл бұрын
@@andrewpeterson285 Swizz was also accused of stealing beats at the time as well tho. Like Nore's "Banned from TV", DJ Shok allegedly played Dee the demo, Swizz re-made it & put his name on it. He's been accused of that many times. Yeah maybe you're right. Maybe they didnt work as hard as Swizz but i still think a large part is due to him being their nephew.

Pk didn't get to be a primary producer again till styles p gangster and a gentleman album.. Where he did 4 tracks..

How is it shady if swiss is a better producer? Swiss have worked with everyone in the biz, why couldn't the jealous ones prove their worth and do the same? Did someone force jay-z to take swiss tracks or Beyonce or ja rule or puff or Luda ?
@TheStoryhasbeensold3 жыл бұрын
@@bjvu9460 Swizz had some good production at one time but he is overrated as hell. While he gets credit for the birth of RR, that doesn't mean he was a better producer.
@LastBref3 жыл бұрын
@@bjvu9460 Much of Swizz's keyboard-based beats were cheesy and basic. All the best beats on the classic It's Dark and Hell is Hot were produced by Dame Grease and PK, and certainly Flesh of My Flesh would've been a better album if it had more Dame Grease/PK type production instead of Swizz. The same is true for the Ruff Ryders compilation albums, and especially the Drag-On album. Swizz really ruined that Drag-On album, which is unfortunate because Drag-On had an interesting style. The thing is, keyboard beats were beginning to become more popular at that point in time, with Mannie Fresh, The Neptunes, and Timbaland gaining popularity. Sample-based beats stopped being popular for a few years until Jay-Z's Blueprint in 2001. So, since Dame Grease beats were more sample-based and grimey, he wasn't nearly as popular or in-demand as Swizz. I do give Swizz credit for making all those club songs which made X a bigger household name, but I personally never liked most of those joints. I'll take "Stop Being Greedy" over "Party Up" any day.
