Taron is so bloody fantastic in this movie! I've always liked Elton's music, but Taron brought a special kind of passion to it that I've rarely seen an actor do. He went above and beyond to record every song with his own spin on them, completely nailed them all, and proved that he has incredible range as an actor. This dude is going places. I really hope the academy doesn't ignore this one

Totally agree. Taron's quite a talent. Like most I really enjoyed his work in the first Kingsmen movie, but I wasn't sure he'd turn out to be such a versatile and talented actor/performer. Let's hope he steers clear of Robin Hood-quality films in future and puts his abilities to good use. It would be odd to see the star of this years musical biopic win, after last year. But it's not unimaginable. He has the talent (not that Hollywood's particularly about that!), and the Academy does love a true story, and drama with a hint of redemption. And Taron is white, so that's in his favour (I'm joking, I think the actor, from what I've seen, appears deserving and a good fit for the award).

It's all a bit loud for my taste. Call me boring but I'm more of a fan of The Kingsmen 'uniform'. Which isn't too different from the attire of Bond or Wick as it happens. What I find most impressive is how much these guys do in clothing that I find only suitable for standing upright and walking at a casual pace. Any other form of movement makes me wish I was wearing anything else (well not literally, as I don't think I have the personality for Elton's style, and I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable with the attention his clothing would attract). I'm more a disappear-in-a-crowd kinda guy. I'd make a terrible popstar. Or I'd look as dull as Brian Ferry!

Gray Wolf That’s very true. It villanized him. Rocketman was overall a better movie if you don’t take into account that it’s about someone. If we're to ignore past biopics of musicians and say, stick with the theme of English 70/80s musicians, I'd say David Bowie has to be next. And if they ever decide to do The Rolling Stones, with the CGI de-aging tech available now they could have Jagger play himself! He's done acting of some sort in the past if I remember correctly.

@@emmafichter8744 Interesting. Just looked it up and it appears to be going a slightly different route than that of the Elton John and Freddie Mercury films. It's going to centre on a very specific time-frame within Bowie's career, and (for me at least) the time around his best music. I've actually seen a documentary that covers this period when he first arrived to tour America; if you're interested I'd highly recommend checking it out, dunno it's name, sorry, but it's a fascinating insight into Bowie, the man behind the performer. I've not heard of the lead actor for Stardust but interestingly he does have a musical background. But you've got to wonder how this will compare to Rocket Man and Bohemian Rhapsody! Let's hope it's lives up to those and proves to be another interesting journey into one of music's biggest and most influencial stars! Makes you wonder if Pop/Rock star biopics will end up rivalling the Marvel Cinematic Universe in sheer number and popularity!? Yeah, maybe not, although a team-up movie (admittedly a complete work of fiction) with David, Freddie and Elton, and whoever else joins this movie-universe, in a super group battling stars of Death Metal or Country would be... erm... maybe not! Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I'm very curious to see how Stardust turns out.

Oh look, low IQ people getting together and patting themselves on the back. Welsh has more vowels than English, which makes it more flexible. The only people who insult it are those who are either lazy, ignorant, or lack the intellectual capacity to understand not all variations of the Phonecian/Latin alphabet are pronounced the same way as it is in English. English doesn't have the moral authority on how Letters should be Pronounced. If anything, it's the other way around seeing how Welsh was using this alphabet several centuries before the English. But hey, ignorance is Bliss. Oh, and btw....its not a difficult language to learn. Y and W are vowels, DD produces a TH sound. English is harder to learn than Welsh!!! @@alondradiaz6639 It's not a personal thing towards you - It's just annoying to see because people are unaware of the attacks the language has suffered at the hands of the English establishment for centuries. I don't think people would make off the cuff jokes if they know a bit about its history. Look up the "Welsh Not " to see Wat I mean... ...The English establishment sacked every Welsh speaking teacher in Wales and replaced them with English only speaking teachers, when the children were caught speaking Welsh, they were beat after class. It's also called "The Treachery of the Blue Books". These effects are still present today, many Welsh children grow up looking down on their language in order to score points with the English. Side note - It's happened twice, the first time under the Norman kings of England was effectively stopped thanks to Elizabeth the First who ordered the Bible translated into Welsh. Effectively saving the language....apparently, she was one of only three Monarchs of England that spoke fluent Welsh.

Sorry but there is no one who can sing like Freddie except Marc Martel and Marc's acting is just unsatisfying where Rami is a hardcore actor for Freddie but definitely he can't sing like Freddie and rocketman is easy to sing than bohemian Rhapsody darling
@ferdinand9555
@ferdinand9555 5 жыл бұрын
@@Aniisananime I'm not saying that elton is better than freddie. I'm talking about the movie itself, while rocketman (the movie) was thoroughly made, bohemian rhapsody (the movie) was a bit underwhelming. Sure bohemian rhapsody (the movie) has far better actors, but the writers completely shat on freddie's true story by adding historically inaccurate senarios in order to have the most cliche'd, cookie cutter story. Again I am just simply implying that BoRhap should have been more accurate because if it did, BoRhap would be miles better than rocketman.
@Aniisananime

If you've not already seen them, search for 'Taron Egerton Graham Norton show'. It's an English chat show, and the host is really good at making guests feel comfortable. It's very lighthearted and the guests always seem to be relaxed and have fun (except Madonna recently, but she's a bit of an oddity these days). I saw a few recently and if you're a fan of Taron's I think you'll enjoy him on this show.
