How Taxes can make life better, if the wealthy paid their fair share

From the housing crisis to the drug epidemic, crime, homelessness, and even crumbling healthcare infrastructure, a majority of the problems we face today are merely symptoms of a larger problem that no major political parties address - the growing wealth inequality and social inequity it creates.
All of these issues could easily be addressed with proper funding put towards them, yet budgets are often fought over, cannibalized and often cut altogether, which only furthers this inequality and keeps us from being able to move forward as a society in a just and equitable way.
Yet just a very minimal tax increase on some of the wealthiest assets in the country could generate a significant boost in public spending to address these issues while simultaneously addressing that wealth inequality to create a more strong and robust social system that would better our lives.
Whats more is that a vast majority of Canadians agree with taxing the rich more to fund these services…yet the NDP and Conservatives aren’t even talking about this issue, and if anything are planning on reducing taxation on the hyper-wealthy and furthering that inequality.
I wonder why that may be…? 🤔
