"How much room for innovation is left after hundreds of years?" Love when videos like this challenge my bad assumptions and lack of imagination! Didn't know hyperburst was a thing, but that's awesome.

@@Franimus it does feel like we’re approaching this wall where any advances generate marginal benefits at great expense. It feels like madness. We’ve been at “make it shoot more bullets per felt shot” for nearly 50 years now and it’s been “just another weird idea” that never went anywhere substantial while the tried and true just gets iterated on. Better ergos, more rail space and accessories to use on it, optics and illumination, material and geometric improvements to add service life to a barrel and reduce corrosion, taking play weight and travel out of trigger mechanisms, etc, but always still staying on the same fundamentals without much deviation

@StealthTheUnknown If it weren't for auto weapons restrictions I bet hyper burst would be more prevalent, because what are the drawbacks compared to normal bursts?

Have you developed your own bursts mechanisms? If yes, could you share your thoughts with us? Mechanics is just exciting

@@nirname-r4y you are exactly my kind of audience, sir. Yes, I have worked on a few brush mechanisms of my own and now that you mention it, I might actually do a video on this. It’s a great idea.

@ I recently decided to give a go on 3D and ended up developing my own trigger mechanism. Maybe I'll come up with some ideas, but the trickiest part is to make it neat and in very confined space.
