How the animals stay warm in the bitter cold

We had -16 a couple days ago. My horses have been eating hay that keeps them warm, it raises the temp and on top of their heavy weight blankets they're fine. Our katahdin sheep have built in north face jackets they are water proof and bellies full of hay and grain. Stay warm Jeff!!

As a second thought… I do believe your horse wanted more of the spotlight!! But in a serious note, it’s hard to fathom being comfortable outside in the cold on land, but to see the otters swimming in that water freezes my brain’s ability to think!

When I was taking care of two horses on a farm as part of my rent agreement we would put these jackets on the horses in the winter
