First there was Led Zeppelin, then it was Nirvana, later was Queens of the stone age and Foo Fighters. And later Josh started to get into lots of side projects (like Desert Sessions, Eagles of Death Metal etc.) and TCV is his newest side project. And John has its own band. So its kinda like a second home for Dave, Josh and John. And all these guys were friends for a long time, Josh knew Dave since Nirvana, he even knew Kurt, and I think John and Dave must have been friends for a long time too.
