@Marvinskanalify8 жыл бұрын
***** I can't speak for Napoleon but I doubt that he ever saw himself as truly Corsican or truly French, more likely he saw himself as somewhere in between, but in the end I think he was more French then Corsican. But I doubt he saw himself as a Genoese the Corsicans were never happy under their rule. And he spoke Corsican as his native language not Italian, but to be fair alot of very different languages are considered "Italian" even if they are mutualy uninteligible.

Napoleon didn’t have a French accent. He had an Italian accent, and apparently it was pretty strong. He’d often pronounce French words the way they’d be phonetically pronounced in Italian. He was also a notoriously bad speller when it came to French.

kerlesh. Knowing Napoleon's plans, maybe they thought attack was the best form of defence. Maybe they thought it's a big risk allowing this power mad emperor to control so many European states. @TheAnarchistBeekeeper7 жыл бұрын
Le Huy-Anh The most used language in Corsica during that time was Italian, for what concern the accent usually it change depending from which part of the island a person is from: at the extreme north of Corsica they have an accent that sounds like a mix of some Tuscan and central italian accents while in the southern part of the island the dialect is similar to Sicilian so it is possible that a person from there would have somehow a Sicilian like accent .

Nepolian's favorite cheese smells very similar to stinky feet. But it is not bre, although it has a somewhat similar looking rind & is also made from cows milk. Not only does it smell rather foul, but it has such a pungent scent that the French have even banned that particulate cheese from being carried on public transport (which says A LOT). I've heard it's actually pretty tasty though, it's called Berthaut Epoisses De Bourgogne. But like cultural savages, in my country, we can't buy it or possess it, as that's illegal. As our all knowing bureaucracy, in their infinite wisdom, decided to ban ALL unpasteurized cheese. The irony of which is not lost on me; by that I mean, the French invented the pasteurization process, yet even they think it's unnecessary for most cheeses to be pasteurized.
