Great job Derek, takes a lot of patience to do what you do! You have an intuitive mind, there's no doubt about that! Thanks for the video of making the box for the {32 Ford P/U} Job very well done, thanks for taking the time.

Thanks for sharing your process for constructing the pickup box. I agree a purist would spot the differences, but at the end of the day sometimes compromises have to be made. After all it’s a Streetrod and personally I think you’ve created & fabricated a very nice looking product. Regards from the U.K. 🇬🇧🇨🇦.

Thank you so much for the kind words and compliments. You're right it's a street/hot rod so liberties are okay.

Thanks for your inspiration Derek,great job,l’m interested in what you use to prevent surface rust after your done making,l use Gibbs but ……….? l’m doing a similar build in Australia,34 cab on a 32 chassis👍🏻

Honestly I haven't done anything, when it comes time to do the bodywork I will sandblast if it's a frame or buff with a sander if it's sheet metal before epoxy priming. I'll look up what Gibbs is and maybe take your advice! BTW my cab was a 33 to start with but I changed the firewall and subframe to fit a 32 frame.

Thank you Derek! I have a 32 Truck, I have original sides and a United Pacific bed front. The original sides are well 90 years old and seen their duty. I was in a quandry, deciding whether or not to try and build the sides, or buy reproductions. But you gave me inspiration to give it a go. I can buy a bead roller and still be money ahead and have a new tool for the shop. What gauge steel did you use for the bed? Do you have a google photos album put up with ALL your pictures of your 32 build? Would be great if you did or would consider putting one up.

Hi, I used 18 gauge for the sides and back. I have a lot of pictures of my build on my Instagram derekfraser32 . I do have a Google account but nothing setup for just the pickup, it's all mixed with personal pictures as well. Let me know if you want more pictures of anything specific. I'll do what I can to share some way.

@@coldstreamrodshop maybe create a Gmail account coldstreamrodshop and then albums if your builds. So much easier to see pictures on the desktop computer than on the phone. Maybe your lovely assistant could help! My A pillars where door hinges attach are buggered. Love to see pictures of them. If I could talk you out of a tracing of the hinge side, that sure would be really helpful...if not I understand. Thank you!

@@martyscncgarage5275 I can make a tracing of the A pillar if you want and I can mail it to you. We'll look into a Google photo account for ColdstreamRodShop. I have a personal one. The camera lady is the IT department too. If you can send me your address by DM in Instagram or Facebook ?

You talked about paying extra for the Ford emblem. Can you give me the company name from which you got it from? I'm working on a 1946 Ford project, and would like to put the stenciled Ford emblem into the tailgate I already have. Thanks Bart
@coldstreamrodshop3 жыл бұрын
The tailgate is from Brookville Roadster. You can buy it directly from them or buy through Speedway.
@coldstreamrodshop3 жыл бұрын
The tailgate has the Ford emblem stamped into the tailgate. Tailgates without the Ford stamped on it cost less.
