The medical boards in all states, as well as the American Medical Association protect their own at the expense of patient safety. Did you know there are hundreds of licensed and practicing doctors in California who are registered sex offenders! It's time to take action and hold all healthcare practitioners (especially doctors) accountable. We need to change the laws.

Medical board is paid by Kaiser so if you have a Kaiser doctor you're out of luck

It's very difficult to prove incompetence. Usually the medical board goes after doctors for things that are easy to prove like forgetting to write a note, getting a dui or other objective criteria. Competence is often highly subjective and differentiating incompetence vs a random complication can be very difficult. I've the majority of disciplinary actions by the medical board are not for being a bad doctor. Some cases are obvious but it's a big government bureaucratic institution that is based on political pressure for the most part. The medical board is unfortunately primarily run by attorneys and not by doctors who understand how the practice of medicine actually works. Think of the medical board as the DMV with a much more difficult task at hand. If you're worried about the confidence of your providers then the medical board is probably not the best place to look. Honestly online reviews and asking for second opinions is probably the way to go. I've had good care and I've had bad care. The great majority of doctors and nurses are quite good at what they do. Human life comes to an end and not all conditions have good treatments. Be grateful for what we do have. You don't have to go back very far in history to appreciate quality medical care. These news stories are not intended to inform you. It's a ratings based business. If you want news then check out news sources that don't try to rile up your emotions so much.

Robots will do a better job than these incompetent arrogant doctors these days. I don't even go to see a doctor anymore bc of my horrific experiences with them. Nurses too. I'll wait for the robots.
