Not sure how the foot injury slowed Mack's play when he had 6 sacks in 7 games and was on pace to have a huge year PRIOR to that injury. 🤔

Cause sacks are a small sample size of total snaps. He was still effective, but he wasn’t playing like he had in those first team all pro years. If you’re wondering about his pressure rate by year: 2018 - 14.5% 2019 - 13.2% 2020 - 11.5% 2021 - 12.5% Like I said, I’m still expecting him to be very good this year and better than last year. But last year certainly wasn’t his best.

Raiders fan here. I fully admit ( against the wishes of my Raider comrades) that the originl Mack trade was the Raiders biggest mistake since JaMarcus Russell. We traded away the best player on the Raiders and the Bears for lottery tickets 🎟 😒 Fact is...Khalil Mack will go down in history as one of the greatest players the Raiders ever had ( an all pro at linebacker and defensive end who tossed Giant offensive linemen around with one arm) . They need to prove they can win when Herbert doesn't have one of his great passing games and they real problem, Brandon Staley needs to learn how to coach a greaqt defense. Staley had a healthy a Bosa, Derwin James and almost all their top defensive starters last year yet, they went from a #19 defense, all the way down to the 3rd worse defense in the NFL. Staley is the weak link on the team imho. A lot was made of a “terrible run defense” but Staley’s defense doesn’t keep enough people in the box to cover every gap, instead basically every lineman has to defend two gaps, something that only works when Aaron Donald is destroying the middle of the Oline every play. Plus his 4th down calls cost like 3 games.

Staley was a rookie head coach last year, you need to give him time. Also, his fourth down aggressiveness won them multiple games and kept them in others - you can't expect that type of aggressiveness to pay off every time you try.
