The Dolphins lost to stiffer competition than the Chiefs did, and you can count me among the many who believe the Chiefs shouldn’t have appeared in two of their SBs. If Bud Grant and Fran Tarkington had won their three appearances, they’d be a better duo too. Then there’s Marv Levy and Jim Kelly. They appeared in four SBs but won zero. It even goes back farther than that, which is even stranger. Steve DeBerg was a former Montana backup in SF and was KC's starter from 1988-91. In 1993, they brought in Montana himself over from SF. In 1995, Montana retired and KC signed Steve Bono, one of Joe's SF backups to be the KC starter. After Bono, they brought in Elvis Grbac to be the starter - you guessed it, Steve Young's backup in SF. Then in 2013, they acquired Alex Smith, Kaepernick's backup. Wild. The Chiefs (were) notorious for never drafting a QB in the first round, and signing backups away from winning franchises for nearly 30 years. Mahomes getting drafted for KC fans was the shock of all shocks on multiple levels because they finally had a good starting QB, and they never drafted first rounders. Make no mistake, there were plenty of Chiefs fans thinking "why do we do this to ourselves? Fire everybody."

As a Broncos fan who hates the Chiefs, I got to admit, it's impressive what Andy Reid has done with that franchise. I feel like with their current dynasty status, It's easy to forget that they were snake bitten for 40 years. I remember them catching me by surprise when they started out 9-0 before their bye week in 2013. Because here we had a team that was 2-14 the year prior. But then I remember their cracks started showing after their bye. I believe we handed them their first loss that year and then beat them in KC a couple of week after. I believe they lost 5 of 7 including twice to my Broncos and the Chargers as well. In their 5 years under Alex Smith, they were good enough for a playoff spot and a division title but never great enough to be a super bowl contender. But under Mahomes, they're a perennial Super Bowl contender. Even when they don't look great during the regular season kind of like last year. I hate the Chiefs, hut I've accepted that I'm just going to have to dral with them and losing to them every year.

Dorsey mightve still been at the helm but veach drafted Mahomes he was his biggest fan. He even fooled other franchises such as the Saints into thinking we had no interest when veach had his eye on pat for a long time. That is why imo he ultimately got the gm job.

Losers? Chiefs have the 4th most wins in the NFL since 1990. Chiefs were the first team to earn 6 STRAIGHT Playoff Appearances. Fr 1990-95. (Chiefs had everything except A Tier1QB in their prime.) Also? Since 2012? The Kansas City Chiefs own THE MOST Wins in the NFL. (That's 6 Seasons WITHOUT Mahomes.) KC Chiefs ar e (15-3)/6 straight AFC Championship game Appearances/4 Super Bowl Appearances since Feb2020/ won SBLIV, SBLVII & SBLVIII Titles in Playoffs last 6Seasons? Cuz for first time in 50yrs? Chiefs haavs a Tier1 Quarterback in his prime. Go look at 98% of SB Winners last 45yrs. Tier1 Quarterbacks were the winners.

There was alot missing from this short summary, but it was very short at 10 minutes and change. I do think that the basic feeling of the Chiefs History came across. Foundation & early success/purgatory of mediocrity/hard-fought moderate success with heartbreaking playoff defeats/fits & starts/the bottom falls out/new moderate success with heartbreaking playoff defeats/Mahomes Era Chiefs. The glaring omision was the Montana, Allen AFC Championship loss. Additionally, there were a few more guys that should have been mentioned like Tony Gonzalez and Jamaal Charles among others. I give it a solid B grade.

@thehalftimeshow You're welcome. I hope that didn't come off as harsh. It seemed to me like the target audience was someone who was only aware of the past 6 - 10 years of the team. I thought that you were able to introduce the newer fans to the feeling of heartbreaking disappointment that was a big part of Chiefs history. The Montana acquisition was an important turning point, though, and if it were me, I would have dropped a few more players names so the viewer had a direction to go if they wanted to find more information on their own. I was really glad that you didn't miss Preist Holmes. Anyway, good job.
