It’s not that he can’t spare them but that the rules say he needs a minimum soldier headcount at the outpost at all times. If it were up to him he’d probably do it himself but it’s one of many cases of the NCR letting themselves be governed by their own paperwork rather than by material reality. It’s one of the game’s central criticisms of them as an organisation, that its leaders don’t understand what the problems are, that they think you can win a war or feed a nation by shuffling paper around on a desk.

Good observation. I think that's part of the charm with some characters like Trudy, Red Lucy, Sarah which are voiced by the same woman. Maybe not so much with the NCR, because like you said, they're playing the same character and not changing up their voice.

The fact the courier has to do so much for the NCR to get them ready to fight Caesar's Legion shows just how fucked they were at the start. It doesn't take nearly as long to sabotage the NCR and fight for the Legion. What irks me a lot about this is that you are never actually accepted as one of either side. My guess for the reason why you aren't considered a soldier in their army is due to how you are more like a hired gun trying to earn their favor. If you were officially accepted into their ranks, whether it be as an officer or an enlisted, you would have to follow the standards and orders appointed over you, you would be assigned to a specific post, and you will pretty much be in the same situation the courier is currently helping all NCR Folk out of. If they can't accept you as a soldier, how come they won't accept you as an NCR citizen? That also is rather disappointing.

Actually, the implications of your face getting put on a coin by the Legion, both male or female tells you that Caesar was choosing you as his successor because only Emperors in Rome had their faces slapped on coins, so the Legion does accept you. Additionally, it's a Legion Aureus, which is the coin that previously only had Caesar's face on it

​@@whilrybird67 Realistically that's probably what would happen for a Courier who aligns with the NCR.(especially a high Charisma one) The Golden Branch pretty much implies they gave The Courier citizenship, so the Courier could easily slip into NCR politics and gain popularity fast with their heroic reputation. Alternatively, the Courier could slip into the military and they'd likely climb rank very fast.

I think a better ending is with the Followers assisting the NCR, Enclave assistance, Gannon staying because he becomes a teacher for the NCR, and the Brotherhood assistance by reforming, regrowing and helping patrol for the NCR in a partnership.

I would had dropped Charisma to a 1, lowered Strength, Perception and Endurance to 9 and distributed the remaining points into intelligence and luck (Maybe 7 of Intelligence and 5 Luck). Then i could use Intense Training to put my Luck into 6 and use Naughty nightwear for the +1 of Luck it gives to gamble on the casinos to get enough money to buy implants for some other of my stats. (Lets not forget some of the implants you can get in some of the DLCs that can also increase your stats).

And yeah, the government and capital can collapse, but those other cities and people aren't going to disappear overnight. Hopefully in season 2 we at least get to see towns like Reno, the Hub, San Fran, etc. doing well for themselves because there's no real reason why they shouldn't. If some weird hyper-patriotic cult is all we see of the actual NCR in this show then I'm out. That's not canon, sorry.

The guy in Primm should allow you to recruit troops in the Wasteland, like some form of militia, that would have been more fun than just convince "receptionist" major knight. An option to convicne beagle to join NCR and become miltiary police would have benn fun too. About the NCR deputies in Primm, i was searching for them in the base game files with the GECK but couldn't fin them it's a native feature? (i would like make a mod that change them in military police).
