Whichever way the rams offensive line slides protection, the defensive tackles Drop 5-10 yards in zone coverage. So that way if the receivers beat the DB on man coverage and try to go shallow over the middle, the defensive tackles can play zone, and result in that down lineman getting a pick. It’s a really weird way to put pressure on the QB. It’s kinda awesome though how there’s literally 2 or 3 offensive linemen standing around while the QB Is getting sacked or having to rush to get the ball out because no one is covering the ends or all the guards are busy while the center and a tackle are doing literally nothing.

This cover 0 defense was actually the same thing that the Patriots used in Super Bowl 53. That cover 0 blitz actually forced Goff's Pick as mentioned here. Goff and Mcvay should've learned from this. But looks like they didn't. Greatest plays to beat cover 0 are quick slants and curl routes.

They definitely knew they were gonna see some zero pressure, but the thing that spooked Goff for the rest of the game was when they faked Zero and dropped a lineman back to pick him off

Yup, Goff's weakness is definitely blitz/pressure. McVay needs to use more of like 2 or 3 TE sets against cover zero and just run the ball as it worked earlier in the game with motion. If Goff doesn't improve and McVay can't scheme better plays against pressure, then the Rams haven't learned anything from SB 53

What do you mean shut him down? He threw a td and 355 yards. Literally if there’s no fumble for a td and punt return for a td, the rams win 17-14. Bad game? Yeah. 4 turnovers in the 1st half is a terrible day. But he wasn’t shut down. He had a respectable 2nd half. This was a great gameplan by Miami so I give them props but it was a bad game all around for the rams. Mcvay didn’t adjust to this at all. A punt return for a td. Henderson didn’t even try to block the guy off the edge on the fumble for a td. Everett missed another block that led to Goff getting hit as he threw the ball. I mean at least hit the guy. Push him. Touch him.. do something to protect your qb. But it’s cool. Miami’s defense got me 12 points the next week in fantasy because of this game I picked them up. So thank you 😂
