Perez probably took advice there was no legal impediment to the proposed football Superleague following a recent ruling by the European Court on a dispute between professional speed skaters and the International Skating Union. Notice that no European politicians threatened legal action to prevent the ESL because they did not have the power to do so, it was sanctioned by the EU Courts. So had we still been in the EU the UK's legal power to prevent English clubs joining the Superleague would have been limited. Without those English clubs participation, the ESL was a non starter. I think they were trying to humour those clubs likely to try and break away. Now that those clubs have been shown to be in a far weaker position than they thought, UEFA should bring in "Project Level Playing Field" and revert the European competitions back to knock out tournaments, with 2 legs in each round, except for the finals, no parachuting of eliminated clubs from one competition to the other, countries only getting extra places in these tournaments based strictly on their leagues 5 year coefficient, have as many teams as possible starting the competitions at the same stage and, if there is to be seeding, clubs being seeded purely on recent performances, not because of who they are! It's too much to hope this will happen unfortunately, but now that the greedy bastardes who tried to break away know that it would be likely to fail if they did so again, UEFA should go on the offensive and try and have as level a playing field for everyone!

Ive noticed some commenters all over the web commenting that the UEFA isnt neccesarily good guys either, which might be true but atleast the existing competition offers a chance of participation no matter how small the odds. Though they should think about restructuring the football pyramid so that transfer and salary gaps isnt that huge of a gap, increase requirement for homegrown talent, and league winners from all countries be guaranteed a group stage spot either in CL or EL. He explained, young audience are not following football anymore, and the only way to captain their attention is with direct more games with the best teams, the money would have been bigger for them and thus also get money to the teams of each league, as since covid all the big teams have lost a lot and only petrol money its sustained some big clubs, but uefa use politics to convince the fans that local leagues will be destroyed, that was a lie.

@@diamontdust more games with the best teams only benefit the top teams, the Super League would make national leagues less viewed because the top teams almost surely would get expelled

@@diamontdust football is the biggest sport in the world mate. What you are talking about? Matter of fact, I am apart of the younger audience (20 years old) and I have no problem getting excited to watch United struggle to break down Burnley. Those who love the game truly will appreciate it and our system. Perez is clearly trying to profit from nuanced artificial fans.

Weird how it jarringly switches from the 24 hour clock to the 12 hour clock in this video.

First player to speak out from a ESL club was Bruno Fernandes with the now infamous quote. "dreams can't be buy" Before Woodward resigned there was a player revolt lead by Maguire and Luke Shaw who stormed up and confronted Woodward.

I love your channel and it's always great work. 2:33 - "16 : 19" is not "6:19 PM"

I hadn't actually seen Premier League for some time because I'd been busy with college and stuff, and the day I came back they announced ESL and I was seriously losing it. Thank god that crap is over now!

I watch a bit of football. Follow it on the internet too. That was a nice podcast but the song in the end was MEGA. You can have my money.

You should've stuck to 1 time format in this video- AM/PM or the 24-hour clock
