nice, I actually can't wait to get my hands on a Dygma defy someday. From what I have seen, it should be my "endgame" keyboard...

You learn one key at a time...😉 Miquel you should try the word "Otorrinolaringología" that will throw a learning curve into your repertoire. Tenting the keyboard is like learning to play el bandoneón or like some Americans would like to call it a "SqueezBox". Dominque, you keep teaching we keep learning...Great job👍! Kudos from NYC🗽.

Otorrinolaringologia... okay, that took me a while to type it 🤣 Learning how to type on a tented keyboard is indeed a game a patience and practice. Thank you for your comment 💙

I love the features in defy. The wireless, magnetic palm pads and the thumb keys. But too afraid to try out the ortho linear layout. Do you have plans to add these features to dygma raise? Or a regular non ortho linear version of defy?
@DygmaLab
@DygmaLab Жыл бұрын
We feel you. The idea after the Defy is to develop a new Raise with wireless, but it will still be staggered, not ortho I'm afraid 😅 Have you checked our printable Defy? Some people said it gave them the idea on how it would be to have one. You can check it here: www.reddit.com/r/DygmaLab/comments/txp6h3/download_a_lifesize_printable_dygma_defy_to_test/

Little but important question : do the f and j keys on the defy and reaise have the little bumps that conventionnal keyboards have to help find them without looking ? It would be even more important with a tented keyboard. And is this true even with the dash layout (not only qwerty etc.)
@DygmaLab
@DygmaLab Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they do! Even our Dash keycaps have it. You won't get lost without looking at the keyboard, no worries 😅

@DygmaLab
@DygmaLab Жыл бұрын
The current estimated shipping date for the Defy is August still, so I would say you have great chances of receiving it in that month. If something changes, and you need to cancel the order you can also do this, and we will refund the amount back to your payment method, no questions asked 😉

I'm not an expert by any means, but I think I read somewhere that a slightly reclined sitting position actually better for the spine than sitting perfectly upright all the time. Do you know if there is any truth to that?
@Zivhayr
@Zivhayr Жыл бұрын
Holding one position for a long time is always bad, our bodies are designed to move :)
@DygmaLab
@DygmaLab Жыл бұрын
It varies on each individual person; what's not recommended is being too reclined like we showed in the video 😊

From my experiences, tilting that high makes the keyboard wobble. I generally have mine just under 45 degrees. Maybe 40ish 😅
@DygmaLab
@DygmaLab Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the higher the tenting angle is, the harder it is to keep it steady, but normally you can manage it. We've improved that with the Defy too 😋

@@DygmaLab I love the deft features. The only thing that kept me from ordering the defy over the moonlander during defy’s unveiling was the natural curve the moonlander offers. I don’t mean the key well like the kinesis ones, I mean the curve from palm the wrist. The moonlander has a foldable/retractable palm rest that pivots, and it works really well for my aging joints!

Are you sure those statistic numbers from surveys about tenting keyboards doesn't just come from users that are already into tenting keyboards? How is a tenting keyboard going to be better, if instead of resting your hand on top, you have to constantly keep your hands IN THE AIR, and too much force would move the keyboard sideways! I don't know how I am the only one saying this. I hope at least it is useful for people with some kind of wrist injury.
@DygmaLab
@DygmaLab Жыл бұрын
That's true, there's a ratio-base fallacy here. The sample is comprised of people that bought a tenting kit for our split keyboard, not random computer users. That said, as explained in the videos linked, tenting helps reduce the wrist pain due to hand pronation, and you don't actually have to keep your hands in the air, they are still resting on the keyboard thanks to friction. It's like if you had a ball on the table and your grabbed it 😅 Here's a link that explains it kzbin.info/www/bejne/poauoHVvasZ4mZY

wouldnt it be just amazing if your keyboards had a trackball or something similar attached. I guess it is not possible eh?
@DygmaLab
@DygmaLab Жыл бұрын
We don't sell a solution with that yet, but we've been working on a solution that will come in the future 😅 Also, there's a Dygmate that attached a ploppy trackball to one of the sides of the Raise and it works fine... You can check that design here: www.reddit.com/r/DygmaLab/comments/136oxht/this_dygmate_has_all_the_balls/

We really like our tenting solution for the Defy as it's slim, sturdy and provide many angle options. What don't you like on it? 🤔 We've made a video about the design process and showing some of our prototypes too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIvQmZynbLBlepo

@@DygmaLab I just don't like the fact tilting is only an option for side angles and not forward. But i think i might have to try it. Also, did you Delay the release of Dygma Defy? I think last time I saw it was placed on June and now it says August.
@DygmaLab
@DygmaLab Жыл бұрын
Understood, the Defy will also have negative tilting so you can also tilt it forward, here's a video of that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aV7FiaRobbiWn80 We did delay to August 🥲
