I have been searching for months on how a fb business page working and how to get off the ground with a small home business. For days I been looking an ran across you searching through KZbin and Pinterest. I've learned soooo much and requested to join your fb group. Plain, simple and understandable. Thank you, thank you. I know there is much to learn but what a great start. I could never get a clear answer from my craft support groups. Hat's off to you!

As a virtual living fossil aged 62 years I am in the process of trying to demystify how KZbin works as I have been told it is the next best thing for getting your business 'out there' . So have been looking for videos which are helpful and easy to understand. So a note of thanks for your video which is helpful in explaining the machinations of KZbin. Now I have just got to KZbin 'Algorithim' (which seems to be a buzz word theses days) and see what kind of beast that it..............something to do with Arithmetic ???...... Anyway, have subscribed to you and hope to learn more. Thanks.

I don't have many videos directly about KZbin (mine ore mostly about Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), but on any platform the algorithm favors content that people enjoy. The mistake a lot of businesses make is creating content THEY (the business owner) wants people to see, rather than creating content the audience actually wants to see. Best of luck with your continued demystifying!

The algorithms is very helpful when you want to find something specific amidst the chaos, but it's highly addictive at the same time when the content is really pleasurably stimulating. So when a corrupt mind uses it, he finds what he's looking which satisfies he's fancy, therefore perpetuates he's corruption. But when it is used intelligently it is really a convenient tool to find practical information.

Hi! My friend Rebecca (not her real name *wink*) have this awesome organically grown Facebook page but made a mistake of making a campaign where people needed to be tagged and post shared. Now her page's posts do not show on people's timelines. She found a group that's willing to let her post few campaigns (for prizes) there. I'm wondering, what's the best way, how to get people from that group to interact with the post and follow the page, without getting any more backlash from Facebook? I've been searching for answers for hours now, you're the first channel that knows what they're talking about. You have a new follower, sir!
@mrjerrypotter5 жыл бұрын
Let me ask my friend "Rebecca" and get back to you. 😉 Getting organic reach back after you lose it is extremely hard. When you launch a new page you get the benefit of the doubt. Regarding the groups, I'd suggest requiring them to click through to the original post and comment to enter (rather than commenting on the post in the group). Will that work? It shouldn't violate any rules.
@inkyderanged5 жыл бұрын
@@mrjerrypotter Thank you for the answer! As far as I can understand from the FB policy, the only things that are forbidden are sharing and tagging? I can ask to like the post and page and comment and everything if that does not involve sharing and tagging?
@mrjerrypotter5 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. You can ask people to like or comment on a post, but a lot of those phrases get tagged as "engagement bait," and that will dramatically decrease your reach. I'd avoid phrases that say things like, "Like and comment to win." As far as tagging goes, it's against the rules, but sometimes I ask a question that involves a friend without asking them to tag them, but they do it anyway. "Who is a friend that you need to catch up with over lunch? Let us know for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate for lunch."
@inkyderanged5 жыл бұрын
@@mrjerrypotter The tagging part I got. The thing is that it's a specific niche store page and a niche group, but somehow need to get the audience that's not there yet while fixing the damage done by the previous campaign. Rebecca's idea was to like the page and post a picture with a story in the group, where the campaign is launched, but I don't see how to make that post go outside the group and likes to the page if you cannot ask for people for likes. Rebecca is stubborn, she wants it done that way (posts in the group and no FB advertising). So I got stuck with the virality aspect and likes issue. Thank you for taking your time for this.

Hello Jerry, you make really interesting content! I use it for my own business page. I have a question about that story about the mum. Does this only goes for profiles or for pages as well? My family likes and shares some of my content and I let them because I thought likes and shares are a good thing even if it is my mum. But do my posts just get considered as something just my family likes because of this?
@mrjerrypotter4 жыл бұрын
It's possible, but not likely. You could test it - do a similar post once a week for 4 weeks. Ask them to share the 1st and 3rd one and see what happens!

I love your videos always informative... BUT, I have one issue... saying that no one goes onto Facebook to shop is way off! The original intent was to be social media, now they are both social media and business friendly. That's why they have Business pages (Fan Pages)... I'm from the Philippines and everyone uses not just Google and KZbin but probably the most is Facebook. The folks I speak to in the USA also use Facebook to search and shop so as much as I hear people don't shop on Facebook, that's simply not completely true. I do understand people using youtube and google to search for an interest and facebook is interuptive ads etc. but people do search to shop for products and services on Facebook...

Hey champ the problem im having is that i have over 100k fans on my music page but everytime i post something without boosting it, it gets like 5 likes. can you help please?
@mrjerrypotter5 жыл бұрын
Without seeing your page I'd suggest looking at the content you are posting. Are you posting things your fans are interested in? Or are you always trying to sell to them (asking them to go to a show, buy an album or other download)? How old is your page? Are those 100,000 fans all legit and from the last couple of years? When you boost, how much more engagement are you getting? If you create content that gets natural engagement, then boost it, you have the potential to increase your reach exponentially. If you are posting posts that people don't engage with, boosting will show it to more people, but at a very expensive price. I hope that helps - Best of luck!

I love this! Thank you! In regards to link posting, or rather not link posting. How would you navigate sharing a blog? Is FB the best place?
@mrjerrypotter5 жыл бұрын
Back in the day bloggers were able to drive huge traffic from Facebook, but that's just not the case anymore. You can still drive some traffic, especially if the blogs are good and you boost them. Unfortunately links don't do very well on LinkedIn either, and it's hard to share links on Instagram. Twitter can be good for links, but that's useless unless your audience is there and you're going to go all in on Twitter. What I'm getting at is that Facebook is still about as good as anything as far as sharing links on social media goes in my experience.

Thanks again for helpful info. Question: If you boost your post and increase your budget, FB tells you that you will reach more people. If FB is deciding who my post will reach (i.e. if my post is good enough) is it worthwhile spending more money? Also, while on this, if you boost more than one post, is it reaching the same people over and over? Thanks. Going over to FB now to join your group.
@mrjerrypotter5 жыл бұрын
Great questions Wendy! Facebook wants to show the best content for each individual person all the time, and this includes ads, so quality matters. The other thing that happens is as you pay to reach more people, if the content is good you will also reach more people for free as they engage with the content. Does that make sense? So is it worth it? That depends on a lot of things - I know, lame answer. I'd start by asking yourself what you are going to get if your post reaches more people. Will you get new clients? Will it increase sales? Just getting more Likes doesn't justify spending money. As far as reaching the same people over and over, sometimes boosted posts will do that. It depends on how many people are in your audience, how much you spend and how long you run the ad. In Facebook Ads Manager, you can actually tell it to set a cap on the frequency. For example, you could tell it not to show the same ad to the same person more than twice in a week. I'd suggest only boosting one post at a time - Otherwise you are competing against yourself.

@mrjerrypotter5 жыл бұрын
The criteria is determined by the engagement you get. The key is to create content that will get reactions, comments, video views or shares. At a minimum, try asking questions to get comments on your posts.

How is possible that my page with 1.2milion likes and when i post in newsfeed the postreach goes from 1 thousand to 4 thousand , even though before some little time it used to go up to 100 houndred thousand.Thanks.
@mrjerrypotter5 жыл бұрын
Because Facebook is always changing the algorithm. Organic (free) reach is still achievable, but you have to post content your audience LOVES. If they engage with it, Facebook will continue showing it to more people. On another note, I'm sure that Facebook would love it if you spent money to reach more people. The days of reaching a hundred thousand people for free are definitely rare these days.

I feel like if people actually liked your business page that should be enough for fb to show them your content but what the heck do i know
@mrjerrypotter5 жыл бұрын
That would be awesome! Unfortunately Facebook found people were spending less time on Facebook (which means less revenue) when they showed posts from business pages. This is primarily because most business pages just post sales content. Having an email list that people sign up for can still be a free way to reach them, but if you only sent sales content in your emails people will stop opening them. It's frustrating for sure, but they are just trying to provide consumers the best experience so they'll stay on Facebook longer.
