Had a similar problem with the brakes on my SUV. Noise some days, no noise other days. Seemed influenced by temperature and moisture. Brake pad was not worn out. I thought the caliper slide pins were rusty or something. Mechanic thought I needed to recoat the rotors or replace them but after inspecting more found that there were two different brake pads for my vehicle and they were slightly different. Put in the other type and now no noise. Think it was the caliper slide pins were still the problem but caused by wrong size rather than rust.

Thanks again Lars, for putting things in perspective. People here are getting worse. Sitting in their homes watching their formula 1 on their massive TVs. Arguments over the neighbor's fence being 30cm to far on their garden. Acting like I'm the devil because I eat meat and ride a motorbike that has off-road tires and they assume I terrorize wildlife in the woods and ruin nature because of the fuel and oil it burns. While they are too lazy to walk anywhere anymore and have several vehicles per day come to their house delivering food and crap they ordered all the way out of China.
