It hurt the set that the sky was still light. I could imagine it would have looked way better had the stadium been darker

I was in the field cast for the show and I can confirm when the sky was completely dark the field looked incredible, after seeing the show in the pitch dark during rehearsals I was underwhelmed by how they looked during the actual show

So proud to have had the opportunity to be part of the Half Time Crew. It is great to get to see this video to get more insight on the process and "behind the scenes". I would love to learn more on the discussions with artists regarding their plans, the song list, and collaboration between them and stage designers to put come up with the final stage design.

Great stuff, but I really didn't get the effect of the floor lights representing Compton at night. I was very disappointed that the cars didn't bounce up and down during the finally.
@g-dragonsgirl95052 жыл бұрын
1. Daylight when they performed 2. The artists had give 14 minutes only. 3. Dre got recovered from Aneurysm 4. Cars symbolize West coast vibe
@ridesharebiz53172 жыл бұрын
@@g-dragonsgirl9505 Its all good. A lot of money goes into a NFL Halftime show. The creative team should of thought about the lighting conditions at Sofi: especially if the SB was played in the daytime. 1) I thought the lighted floor was carpeting with a plaid design look. 2) The cars definitely represented West Coast but making them bounce was a "trademark" to the rap industry and the LA community. 3) You can have anyone sit behind the steering wheel of the cars for them to bounce. A remote control could of worked and nice camera angles for the finally. 4) Why would a jail building be part of the set to represent Compton? I would of settled for another structure representing police brutality. 5) The performers were great, I was hoping Chuck D and Flavor Flav "Public Enemy" would of made a guest appearance.
@JohanZIX2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking exactly the same. It must have taken a lot of effort to do all the light work... To then perform on daylight and not see the light effect??? I don't understand it. I am very puzzled with this.

Awesome work. The one question I would have is where did the power and DMX Lines go to the carts? When watching the setup videos I cannot find the line to the carts. I suppose that it went into the first cart and then the others were patched through...right? Did it come from one of the light carts underneath the cloth?

I wonder if the set designers were also from Compton how the set would have turned out
@Joskemom2 жыл бұрын
I believe Dr. Dre would tell the set designers what he wanted the set to look like and they would draft pictures of the buildings for his approval. I live in Compton and just about each 'building' had a significance. From that circular spike structure which is a replica of the sculpture at city hall, to that court house replica, to that club 'Eve After Dark' . The 'Tams #21' sign which is the Tams burger place on the corner of Rosecrans and Central which is where Suge Knight backed out and ran over someones head as he tried to escape gun fire after a "NWA" get together post movie production(something like that). That is the reason he is in prison now.
