How the HOPE COMMANDOS Gave Their Lives to Save Ugnaught Slaves

The HOPE Squad or High Orbit Precision entry squad, was a four man squad of specialized clone commandos that played a significant role in the Grand Army of the Republic’s special forces operations. During the final months of the Clone Wars, the Hope squad were sent to the planet Yorn Skot to rescue an Ugnaught Jedi Master named Treetower after he was knocked unconscious while performing a cargo recovery mission on the planet. During operation, the HOPE commandos performed a highly dangerous extraction attempt for the Jedi master, and his high value cargo target.
I’m going to break down exactly how the HOPE Squad of Clone commandos bravely gave their lives to rescue the Ugnaught Jedi Master and the extremely disturbing discovery that was made.
The story begins with the member of the hope squad, simply known as Yellow Commando receiving a worrying distress signal from Republic command. The signal informs Yellow commando that an Ugnaught Jedi General named Treetower had been sent to intercept an illegal shipment of goods that was being smuggled to the trade federation separatists. The distress signal also goes on to tell Yellow commando that something had gone horribly wrong during the mission, leaving General Treetower in an incredibly dangerous position.
Republic command then rapidly re prioritizes the previous missions of the Hope squad, and moves the mission to rescue Treetower to the top priority. Yellow commando accepts the mission, and sets his full focus to finding the lost Jedi and intercepting the Clankas that are holding him hostage.
Republic command and the HOPE Squad still had absolutely no idea what was so important about this cargo shipment that Treetower was trying to recover, but it didn’t matter. The Hope squad were completely dedicated to rescuing and recovering Treetower, no matter what it took.

I used to love those comics as a kid! There were a few other different Clone Commando Squads in Clone Wars Adventure comics called "The Package" and "Orders". "Orders" would have to be the best of the 3 considering that it added a bit more insight on how clones felt about responding to orders, even if some of that are uncomfortable

the way the Commandos operated leads to a question, so what happens once a Commando squad gets reduced in number? given the way they're trained there really isn't time for the surviving Commandos to simply join and adapt to another group is there? we know the Commandos are less independent than ARCs, so what happens to Commandos that lose their squad?

Dont try to find any kind of logic to these cheap comics, they have no absolute sense, they look more like stories totally made up by a kid playing with his toys than an actual official canon comic. Anyway, its just a comic, but again, dont try to find it logic my friend. These last cartoony issues have been quite disappointing IMO

Well I would say they should've used parachutes. It seems they wanted stealth insertion and jetpacks aren't very stealthy even if cool. Other then that it's illogical aspects are actually very logical. I have studied irregular warfare and tactics for a long time, commando operations fascinate me the most, that said early commando operations in our own history resulted in heavy causalities even though successful and the operations themselves would've been more efficent had their been coordination with conventional forces or better logistical support. For example in WW2 marine raiders,merril's mauraders, the early SAS, and the Devil's brigade were often placed behind enemy lines with poor logistics and far from any kind of support from conventional forces and while these highly skilled soldiers managed to come out on the better end of most fire fights and complete most missions they lost countless skilled and valuable personal because of how these missions were planned and poorly supported. Why was planning like this you may ask? Three reasons. First reason being it was a fairly new way of thinking and fighting and like all new ways of war it unfortunately takes the hard way to learn how to do some thing correctly. The 2nd reason is actually still an issue today which is the super man problem. Essentially people start believe special operations soldiers are super soldiers who can complete any mission handed to them regardless of the danger, this is bad because they simply fight differently and therefore the planning should reflect that instead of deploying men on suicide missions. Even today SEALs,Berets,Delta operators, etc will be over worked because of the super soldier mythos. The 3rd reason was at first in WW2 the regular militaries high commands did not like the commandos since they had to operate out of the chain of command in order to fight irregularly so coordination between the two never happened. In the case of hope squadron the first two reasons are what lead to this mess of an operation. Jedi are inexperienced in warfare let alone knowledgeable in irregular tactics so they don't really know how to effectively deploy and support commando operations which leads to default to the super soldier myth believing commandos can handle any situation with relative ease and aren't trained to perform special missions of a certain skill set. Thus this leads to what was seen in this exact moment.
