@@alexandervisscher7416without kawhi they don’t make it out any of those first rounds or even conference finals, he benfitted from the morale kawhi would give from his effort on both sides of the court.. if pg played good in 20 they advance to the conference finals and possibly beat the lakers and win in the bubble, I’m 21 yes pg did ball but he failed to close those first 2 games against the suns when cp3 was out and those were easily winnable games. I do agree that if kawhi was there it would’ve been a free finals run for them but the guy was carrying them so hard in the first 2 rounds before being hurt putting up some historic numbers. The fact he had to work that hard with guys who were actually good was the sad part pg, Morris, jackson would take turns disappearing.. that’s mavs series should’ve ended in 5 or 6, as we seen again this year pg only had 1 great, 1 decent and 4 mediocre games.. they honestly could’ve beaten Dallas and bought kawhi time to come back but harden actually played better than him which is sad

I feel bad for PG that Kawhi wasn't healthy during PG's tenure in LA. On the other hand, in today's NBA, it made no sense to give PG a four year deal, so his departure has some upside for the team, especially as it relates to getting some solid younger players. From what i am hearing here in the Bay Area is that Jonathan Kuminga was not going to hold up a Paul George deal. The Warriors would have included him. It sounds like The Warriors were pushing the CP3 addition in any deal because they didn't want to deplete their depth to add PG. I think The Warriors were going to have issues even with PG but even more so now. I don't believe The Clippers fall that far off last season's regular season record. 48-52 wins

The new CBA rules forced our hand but we should have got something. In the end, PG is not a winner tho and basketball is no longer his priority and it showed on the court. He is not a max player anymore and happy clippers didn't give him one. I like the signings we have made so far and ready for new team and rotations next year. Go Clippers!!!

At the end of the day it's all business no team loyalty or whatsoever. Not surprise at all. Harden will go back to his original no 13 jersey and will try to relived his Houston Harden days bc of this. Just more than half of his former self would be fine. Kawhi perhaps needed just one full healthy season to show what he can really do. We're yet to see him complete a full season again since 2019 and the bubble so it's hard to judge it if he's still have it.

Embiid is never healthy in the postseason. Maybe he changes his diet and exercise in order to be healthy next season but he's one of those guys whose production takes a nosedive in the playoffs, just like PG. I think that they will play well togther during the regular season but it's the playoffs where I'm expecting both of them to choke. That being said, I do agree that he has a better chance of winning in East, especially since Kawhi will probably never be healthy in the playoffs ever again. But I agree with not paying PG. Sixers will come to regret giving him all of that money like Clippers regretted giving away everything to sign him.

Kawhi played 239 regular season games missing an entire season. Paul George (263) played a whopping 24 more games. Bon Voyage PG and the uninspiring career average 3.7APG. The leg injury sucked, no doubt, and no one cares anymore, the athleticism and efficiency finishing at the rim are obviously down a notch with the excuses are up a notch. Hence happy to get DJJ/KPJ/Batum for 1/3 the cost. Hopefully somehow package PJ along with Russ over to Denver. Better they didn't take bad contracts from GS who weren't giving up Kuminga. Clips still a playoff team no need to mess with 2nd apron. Kawhi can play some 4 to conserve defensive energy (let dudes post up on him, fine giving up those lower % shots), gang rebound defensively, and Clips shouldn't generally struggle to score with PG not mucking up the consistency spending 5 years trying to figure out when to shoot. And no one surprised when Reggie Jackson signs in Phili hahaha.

I don’t really see what the second tax apron and the new CBA has to do with what happened though, if the main issue was the fourth year. They still were going to pay him near max the next three seasons and Kawhi and Harden’s contracts both would have rolled off by year 4, and the salary cap is projected to be about $50-60m more than what it is this season anyway. There was no additional luxury tax pressure created by the fourth year, they just didn’t really want him around anymore, it seems, and the CBA thing is more of an excuse than anything.

Keep in mind that Kawhi had asked KD, Kyrie and Butler to join him before speaking with PG. I don't think that Kawhi minds one way or another. PG has to do what's best for him. I'm not sure how much of a benefit having Derrick Jones on the team will be. I'm not sure if he's that good of a shooter but he's very athletic. The question is who will Clippers sign to play with Kawhi. And will we ever see a healthy Kawhi in the postseason again? I know that Lakers are talking about signing Demar, I think someone like him would be a great addition to the Clippers but we will see. At the end of the day, I'm happy to see PG go. But I wish the front office would have traded him a year or more ago and gotten something in return.

Dime Dropper. PG is definitely NOT a top 20 player in the league today, and will definitely not be one 4 years from now. To say we “miss” him because we don’t pay him max dollars is absurd. You ask about whether we will be worse without PG, sadly the answer is an absolute NO, esp if Russ is leaving as well. Let me tell you a secret. When it comes to PG and RW, two of the lowest basketball IQ “superstars” in the league, the only way they help the team WIN is by playing less and shooting less. That’s called addition by subtraction. These two players at the prime - along with prime Melo - can’t get past the first round of the playoff in OKC without KD and harden. That pretty much tells you the “quality” of these two players in terms of contribution to winning. With both of them gone, there will be better ball movement, less forced shots, less TO and less bone headed plays. That alone - will make the team better.

They took one of the most inconsistent, greedy superstars of the league. Boo him when he's back n move on. Happy that Nico (Batum) is back. Maybe one back up center and a power forward, because I guess Nico is for the bench and we're cool to start the season, unless you put Derrick Jones Jr, on the Power Forward position

The Warriors trade offer must have been terrible for the Clippers to let PG walk for nothing. Definitely don't want Levine. That guy is never healthy. Demar Derozan would be better. I honestly would have loved to see Klay on the Clippers.
