‘You don’t get to hate San Francisco unless you love it.’ Broke me to tears in the theater. I live here but had such a confusing relationship with the city in the last few years. So many good and so many bad memories. So much love for this place but so much heartbreak when thinking about it. I love it but but often question my love for it. This quote made me feel better about myself that it’s ok to hate it if you really love it.

Massive middle finger to anyone who disliked this video. This film is incredible and the journey they went through to make it is amazing. It deserves more love than it got.

Great film, I was there to see it at the Alamo two Saturdays ago, met the director and cast. Really hard for me to go through it, because I am a 4th gen San Franciscan just barely holding on. Really captured the true essence of SF and hit the nail on the head in terms of the problems. I'm a friend of Tony and it was great to see him there too supporting the skaters. Hella cool. When Jimmie said his favorite place in SF was the St Francis Fountain, I nearly cried. Dad was there every day through his childhood in the 1930's, lived 2 blocks away in a house my great grandfather built.

I saw this with my dad who lives with ALS after growing up in hunters point and serving in the navy. He made mud pies on the docks like they showed in the film. A woman in the bathroom made a comment about how sick that would make you because of that toxic waste and lead out there in the mud, and I thought about my dad walking in with a cane because of his illness. I wept for about 3 days straight. My dad took me to get fried catfish and red velvet cake in HP after the movie to try to cheer me up. I was born in San Francisco and so was my dad. I grew up in and around the city but sometimes it feel like a lost inheritance of some kind. It’s sad to see how sad it makes us all. I really hope something changes. Thank you, Jimmy Fails, for what you gave to us and to San Francisco.

Just the usual conservative Republicans heaping scorn on their (many) enemies. Half the comments to the trailer is nonsense about Hollywood, black criminality, welfare, liberals, poop, drug needles, illegal immigrants, Marxists, reparations, and how the movie is "anti-white propaganda." Which tells me they definitely didn't watch the movie. Because it is amazing!

if you're finding yourself disliking and commenting on every vice vid, you should probably re evalulate your life. while i agree that vice is bunk (for a very different reason than you), the real winner when u dislike and comment is VICE media (owned by disney, A&E and a faceless venture capital firm), not you.
