I'm starting to be convinced that the only people who dislike Korra are those who have never even heard of PTSD and the ones who are diagnosed (like us) are the only ones who truly get it

What do you think about Steven Universe Future? It was inspired after Korra season 4 and there Steven also has ptsd. 😢
@nialvessal18 күн бұрын
@ I have not seen Steven Universe, at least not all of it. I watched a couple of episodes growing up, but never followed the entirety of it.

I think people, really criticized this show so much saying its worse than atla but to me i think its because they really didnt understand it. This opened a new perspective of it.

@@MediaMunchies495 A common thing I've heard people like to say the most is that aang was a human learning to be a the avatar. While korra was the avatar learning to be human. I may have that mixed up but it really does kind of make sense when you think about it.

This was great. One of the best videos I’ve watched explaining the very real issues Korra dealt with, not undermining the story in comparison to ATLA. I’ve watched both series at least 4 times now and this most recent time, Korra just hits harder than before. I love it even more. I see myself in her. I needed to hear some of the things you shared about trauma in here. TYSM ❤

Thank you...that was well done. I love Korra. There some images that are burnt in my brain. The whole poisoning was very beautifully done and the scene in book 4 when Avatar Korra has a chain around Korra's ankle and is dragging her down in the poison. Just watching Avatar Korra slowly sinking was just wow. No words.

i used to dislike legend of korra, but to be fair. i was still much younger, much less mature. rewatching it years later made me love the show. i can appreciate it much more now that i understand the mental health aspects, as well as society and politics much better. of course kid me liked atla more, the main cast was kids and acted accordingly

incredibly articulate. i’m diagnosed. great job breaking this down with emotion. without ever reading commentary online, i found myself halfway into the series saying “this show is about ptsd. i see myself in her.” i just find it funny how at the start i was expecting legend of korra to be boring. i just wanted to see all the Aang scenes. i wanted more last airbender. by the end, i was left wanting season 5. i found out after the fact, that zaheer was voiced by henry rollins. that was the cherry on top for me. i was floored by the maturity of this series and how beyond well written it was. i didn’t expect myself to hold legend of korra to a higher acclaim than the last airbender. i truly didn’t. korra is my favorite avatar. i felt understood by this show. a part of me wants Avatar Studios to produce more Korra content, but honestly, i don’t know what else is there to add outside the animated series and its comic book sequels. i just hope the next avatar in the series “Gengi” can articulate how korra is able to be of a guidance to him. she’s the most significant avatar since the first one, Wan. in my humble opinion.

bro, i really fw this video. this has been my main argument for tlok since i watched it. you conceptualized the parrallism between the real world and this shower very well. for those of us who have experienced ptsd on any level, knows that this is pretty accurate
