Bro, no one’s pushing the group (BINI) to be popular, like no one’s behind this sudden success. It’s all organic; it’s because of the group’s authenticity and dynamic. And of course, it’s because of their fans, blooms, like you. This sudden success will truly bring the girls to the global stage and it is because of their hard work, passion, talent, sacrifice, and dream. Girls, you deserve all the blessings!

I agree! However, I wouldn't call this "sudden success." They waited for the right moment to be noticed, with 3 to 4 years passing before they were recognized. What I appreciate about them is that they didn't start as the best group, but you can see their growth and progress from the coconut era. They truly deserve to be where they are today! eto yung magiging proud ka sa kanila talaga kung bloom ka.

@@elle3742 haha yeah, i’ve looked at most of the youtube reactors, and by far their BINI reactions have the most views in a given amount of time, sometimes 10 to 100 times higher than their other videos. Like a BINI reaction they made 2 weeks ago would have more views than videos they made months and months ago. So yeah the BLOOMS work hard to watch every BINI reaction video, and the reactors see this and they would make more BINI videos to ride the wave. The perfect circle haha. And then more people get exposed to BINI because all the k-pop reactors are making BINI content. And then new BLOOMS are made who will keep on consuming more BINI content haha.

When I watched BINI during their KUMU (streaming platform kinda like twitch) days, and noticed that they are "untethered"** by the management; Like they were doing crazy stuff while interacting with the fans, I knew they are going to be different. For Filipino Market, the wisest choice that ABS-CBN have done was to let these girls just be themselves. They trusted them well enough that they wont do much to damage their brand. And us Filipinos ate it. We love seeing these girls off stage, doing normal filipino things. The first wave of Blooms felt like they found their online friends who happen to go on tours and concerts sometimes. I think that was their great selling point to their fellow Filipinos.

Winterosy didn’t lie. K-pop took over most of the pinoy here in the Philippines, I’m a blink. We listen to Bini but it’s kinda hard grasping Ppop before. I considered myself a fan but not as hard as I hype K-pop. What changed is that in my experience is that when I saw them live you will realize the difference cause you can relate, you know there’s a lot of talent in Bini. Their personalities and how genuine they are it’s interesting. That’s why I crossed over from K-pop to Ppop. That its time to push and support our home grown talent. Bini represents Philippines I’m not saying that other Ppop group doesn’t but they were trained by FILIPINOS, coached by FILIPINOS. Not a copy cat and they are not afraid in finding their own sound BUBBLE GUM POP. We are proud of what Bini is going with their music and career. But most importantly they’re still funny, genuinely respectful and they connect with every bloom around the world. This sets them apart, how they want to show that nothing has changed even with their success. And I’m a fan of XG as well what I’m seeing is that what XG has done it could happen to Bini as well. World domination since they already performed at Kcon this will start the wider audience. Thanks man we appreciate how much you hype BINI. SALAMAT!

Filipnos are mostly known to our ballads and bands. Most of us have high expectations when it comes to singing. They must sing live and must be a good story teller. Sb19 - AAA 2023 performance with &Team or Mama/Gento in Fist Take Alamat - ILY ILY or Maharani in Wish Bus G22 - Bang, Babalik Any Filipino artist - Wish Bus performances or collaboration of different artists in live stage (All out Sunday or ASAP) You might be get into Fililupno Artist Rabbit Hole

And maybe that’s why it took too long for Filipinos to accept PPop - I mean how can you overthrow Sarah G, Ben&Ben et al. I can imagine vomit inside their mouths when they first encountered ppop with vitriolic thoughts of “wanna be kpop” which is still common among Filipinos and kpop/jpop stans. Slowly though. As a Filipino overseas I’m feeling the same feeling like I did during the band boom of the mid 2000s (Hale, 6Cycle etc) but only this time, that feeling is like on crack with added ginko biloba and ampalaya extract, you know what I mean. Bini opened my doors to SB19, Alamat, G22 and damn it makes me feel proud.

bruhhh, ka-proud man taeeeee. my heart was really full. i've been a kpop fan since i can remember. i believe it starts with gg, then there's sandara park who debuted with 2ne1 then the other 2nd gen and 3rd gen idol groups but seeing, witnessing a group that really comes from where i was born was really a pride shit i can shout out to the whole world yk? i freaking watched mnl48 since day 1 especailly their perfs in it's showtime? then there's sb19 (also been there since day 1) and really that just makes my heart full just seeing the recognition they deserve to my fellow pinoy but then bini came. bini alongside sb19 during pandemic (i was incoming 11th grade student that time then the whole lockdown and covid 19 shiz happened) was the it for me. it didn't help that abs cbn that time was experiencing a big problem but that didn't stop me from watching how the group was formed. my heart was really full and idk how to explain it in words. well, idk where i am going here now with this comment but i am freaking proud as hell. Aside from the blooms and help of stan twitter, what made BINI popular locally is both bringing a fresher-sounding music, and being influenced by other Filipino pop icons who came before them. OPM is mostly dominated by bands and solo artists doing ballads and rock music. BINI, along with other groups, were the ones who brought back pure pop music. The bubblegum sound sets them apart from the current oversaturated scene of OPM. On the other hand, BINI was also able to bring back the sound of pop that has been made by pop icons like Sarah Geronimo and Jolina Magdangal, specially during the 90s and 2000s. Na Na Na and Lagi were the songs that are heavily influenced by the music of the aforementioned artists, which were also loved by people. With that being said, BINI’s popularity right now is indeed organic. The girls worked hard to gain the NGG status, and people who love music made it more possible.

Anime, Kpop, K-Drama, C-Drama, Western Music etc. That dated wayback at 90's and early 2000's So instead of being a Fan, why not become one of that. We already had Filipinos on Hollywood, Filipino members on Kpop groups such is UNIS and Full Filipino members Kpop group Horizon, they are everywhere.

XG are just on another level ! And I think it’s because of many reasons Usually with groups they’ll have strong vocalist and a weak rap line , or they might have bad vocals but catchy songs. XG on the other hand excel in everything, amazing rappers , great singers , amazing dancing and their music is really good and I truly think Simon (their CEO,producer) played a big part on it . He was very strict and would scold them but he would also listen to them , he wanted to create a group like no other and he had a vision and went for it . Plus Simon loves music especially rap and R&B , if you watch their documentary series you will be blown away from the girls and also Simon . They are a family and I’ve been a fan of groups for years but XG’s story is like no other . XG are the future

I like XG too; their rappers are so good; they're one of my top groups right now with BINI; why not try to check them out? They are a complete group too; everyone can rap, sing, and dance, and the most important thing is that they are trained to sing and dance in live performances, and they came from humble beginnings. Their back story is full of tears. They are one of the idol groups I admire the most. Aside from that, they break the stereotypes of idol image by being true to themselves.

I think ALAMAT is the closest to doing that; they just need more promotion, while SB19 is the end of their career. Making solo music is not a good sign every time a member of a group does that; that is almost over for a group, so I don't expect too much from SB19.

Like what I replied to the other comment, I think the only misinformation in the video is SB19 being the first P-pop group when MNL48 came first. But the bigger problem with that video is the lack of information, yes SB19 started with no Filipino identity due to being backed by a Korean company intended to target K-pop audience, what winterosy left out though is they eventually developed their Filipino essence. I can understand the frustration because it made a bad impression on anyone who's not familiar with SB19.

Same. I follow all 3 groups, and been a fan pero pansin ko na yung ibang A'tin only support G22 to spite BINI. Akala ko PPop Rise until nakikilala na yung BINI. Parang dina-downplay nila yung rising fame ng BINI and need to remind everyone abt SB19. Passive-agressive yung iba. We get it, SB19 have made their mark already in the industry, and still soaring. Nasa history na sila ng Philippine Pop music. Why can't we just appreciate the music, hardwork ng bawat grupo and support them? I know the mahalima are super humble and baka mag-cringe pa sila sa pagkakalat ng ibang fans.

The thing that this video do not mention is the actual motivation why KPOP branches out to other countries. It's motivated by money. Contrary to what you will think, the music industry is a finite market in any country. Competition is fierce. It's always hard for new groups to catch a share of the market so companies will search new sources of revenue. Knowing this, those companies try to find ways to attract those market.

Let me add to this facts. BINI wasn't entirely trained by Filipino experts only. During their training at StarHunt Academy, the Director of BINI stated, Filipinos are talented but lack of discipline. They have to fly in Korean experts from MU Doctor Academy, an institution based in Seoul, to train BINI on strict choreograohy routines, diet, vocalization as well. It was a rigorous Korean Idol training system. Who's pushing BINI to Kpop foreign reactors? Most likely Filipino K-pop fans around the world. According to Koreaboo stats last 2022, Philippines has the most K-Pop fans in the whole world next to Indonesia and Japan. I'm not sure if that was counted as Filipinos in the Philippines only but imagine the Filipino immigrants and overseas community around the world included. It's just strength in numbers.

I recommend Cherry on Top, Karera Pantropiko, and Salamin Salamin to watch. If you want live vocals, listen to them in any Wish Bus performance of Bini. They sound exactly like the studio version, but sometimes they sound better live because they add harmonies and adlibs that are not in the studio version, and if you want to check how good a dancer they are, I recommend Karera and Golden Arrow dance practice because they so synchronize, and if you want to see how they can do the live vocals while dancing, I recommend watching "Lagi" dance and vocal practice.

She's right about almost everything except her belief that Kpop and Jpop initiated this whole boy/girl group concept. The West had many boy bands and girl groups long before Kpop and Jpop. For example, Girls' Generation was inspired by the Pussycat Dolls. And G.O.D. being inspired Boyz 2 Men. These boy/girl groups originated in the West, not Asia. Additionally, she's mistaken about SB19 sounding too Kpop. If you listen to their song "Mapa" and read the lyrics, you'll see they're a distinctly Filipino boy group. Although they started under a Korean company, they have been self-managed for nearly three years now. But I like how she set up for BINI on this one. Great video, I just hope that people don't discredit American Pop for what it's done for pop culture. There are a lot of Gen-Zs nowadays that think KPop and Jpop are the OGs when there are actually a lot of Kpop songs that secretly plagiarized American and UK pop songs for years. For instance, New Jeans is currently facing a plagiarism lawsuit. It's good that this issue is becoming more apparent, as most well-known Kpop groups have plagiarized at least two songs, yet this often goes unnoticed.

@@lapizlapoppy The concept exists primarily because of The Beatles, who were the first to achieve global fame as a group. And even before them, Elvis Presley set a precedent. There was Frank Sinatra before that. The idea of an "idol," particularly in Japanese entertainment, is fundamentally inspired by these iconic figures. Even the great Madonna inspired Japan to create many of their City Pop idols such as Maria Takeuchi.

Could you elaborate on why you don't think so? First of all, would there be the term if they did not blow up? Perhaps the term would have just occurred organically but if we elminate them from the equation, from say 2 or 3 years ago, what level of the other groups have promoted the same level? In Canada and the US, people aren't even exposed to anything Filipino except someone like EZ Mil which was able to bring Filipino rap into the mainstream. I cannot think of any mainstream musical artist singing in Filipno that's accepted as mainstream. However, SB19 has normalized Filipino into mainstream music.
