What would happen if perhaps the greatest mixed martial artist of all time fought the most ferocious Muay Thai fighter of his era under Muay Thai rules, and then the next round, under MMA rules? This question would be answered in full when living legend Demetrious Mighty Mouse Johnson faced off against the Muay Thai phenom Rodtang Jitmaungnon.

On a serious note: I've always thought Rodtang would've been a beast at boxing. He's got really good fundamentals and his hands speed and power is really something you don't see that often coming from Muay Thai fighters. I love how he mixes in his combinations, deadly.
@TheModernMartialArtist

Yeah his wide "sloppy" shots wouldn't even be much of an issue because he kind of chooses when to throw those and when to throw with "better" form. He does But not by casuals Goats like GSP always include him in the top 5 greats Even Joe Rogan includes him and he makes so many bad takes People who don't include him are generally people like Dana White, who has Ronda Rousey in his top 5 💀

This video is gold! I love watching DJ work. Rodtang is a joy to watch too. I would love to see how you break down Jose Aldo...though I know that the fear of the copystrikes is still real. That's why the GSP video had to go. :(

Thank you for 🔦 on this EPIC match. IMO, ONE has a gold mine of material that has yet to be broken down by western media. They are by far the best mma promotion in the world rn. UFC fighters wouldn't/couldn't stand a chance over there. The competition level isn't even close.. ONE | Lumpinee is absolutely insane. And it's FREE on youtube- Every Friday morning LIVE! !

I liked this fight but the result was obvious imo. Rodtang didn't really put people out in the first round and you need at least a year of hardcore wrestling/grappling training to even have a chance to survive the second round (and that's assuming they have very good grappling talent, I would say more years for people who don't) against someone like DJ.

I hope this doesn't preclude you from breaking down some UFC fights/fighters. I'd love to see your take on the four kings of MMA violence (Chandler, Alvarez, Gaethje, Poirier) and their classic wars, just as an example.

This is what I love about muay thia. The absolute respect the fighters show to each other, no matter how intense the fight is. These dude beat the hell out each other, then hug and smile and show great respect for the other fighter. Unlike American fighters that many just talk trash about their opponents and act like children when they lose.
