As a Bulls fan I’m not the least bit surprised to see Caruso set screens, grab offensive rebounds, steal balls, and hound offensive players. He’s the very definition of hustle, and a valuable player whether or not he scores. When he’s hitting his three point shots, it’s a bonus. (He’s not so far this year, but as I said, he’s still valuable. We miss him in Chicago, but I’m also glad to see him on a team that might go all the way.)

can you believe this dude? Undrafted, g-league recruit, gave 110% effort, became a champ, and then now, one of the premier defensive guards in the league. Amazing. That 2021 bulls team was something to behold, on pace to be a playoff team, Demar breaking scoring records left and right, just bad luck it we didn't get more of it.
@roboticvenom1935Ай бұрын
By the way Jay Huff is doing that right now! He's the next Caruso in terms of giving effort and fighting to get into the league. He went undrafted twice and played in the G league for 3 years until he won DPOY in G league and grizzlies signed him for his first contract (not a 2 way like before). And he's playing great, he's 3rd in the entire league for per 36 minutes blocks and is shooting over 40% from 3. Ultimate 3 & D player

Isn't that screen illegal? I thought the defender has to be aware of the screen coming? I'll go look in the rules, but I'm pretty sure that's illegal. Edit: I can't seem to understand exactly what the rules state, but it seems to me, that a screener can't set a screen, on a defender, that isn't aware of his position.

The spacing is so much better than when the offense was more “inside-out”. But, the shot distribution has leaned too much towards 3s and something should be done to not punish teams who don’t shoot more 3’s than 2’s, while maintaining the spacing.
@joshb.1118Ай бұрын
What moon of nostalgia are you living on? The spacing in the 90s and early 00s was horrid - I know cause I saw all them games. There is more cutting, more screening, more movement, more actions, and better shooting and dribbling. The only thing the NBA needs to do is get rid of ticky tack fouls, especially of they are initiated by the offensive player.
@lawbinsonАй бұрын
@joshb.1118 Maybe try improving your comprehension. And what's with the attitude? I specifically say that the spacing is better now and a solution needs to maintain the spacing we have now.
@jmgonzales7701Ай бұрын
@@joshb.1118 I partly disagree the Nba needs to get rid of ticky tack fouls and call more travels and carry. Also while i agree the spacing in the 90s and 00s were bad teams like Chicago had optimal spacing. It wasn't wide out spacing but it was very precise spacing. The triangle offense emphasizes quick, deliberate passes and ball movement. Keeping players within 15 feet ensures that passes are crisp and less susceptible to being intercepted, which was critical in an era before the prevalence of the three-point shot. Players staying closer together allowed for: Post-up plays. Cuts to the basket. High-percentage mid-range jumpers and layups, which were the bread and butter of offenses at the time.
