Great drill, my right arm rotation changed in the last few days causing over the top strikes. I realised the issue was in my back swing, knew I could find something on this particular issue in your coaching videos. Been subscribed for quite a while and it's always my first port of call if I want to understand a golf issue. Thank you.

Thank you Adam you have a new sub played golf as a eight handicapper 8 years ago but then lost interest in the game after playing for 30 years. This year I’m going to get back playing so I’m watching your videos as a little refresher during lockdown. You have an excellent way of communicating in a easily understanding manner. Thank you again.

Excellent explanation and demonstrations Adam on how the right arm works in the backswing! This folding and unfolding of the right elbow is something I've been working on together with the proper wrist hinge motion. This video has certainly been a benefit!

adam, i'm kind of a decent golfer but never realized how flat my swing is with a tucked right arm at the top until i saw it for myself for the first time when my friend took a video with his phone. it was like wow that looks collapsed and narrow and ugly but i'm gonna work on it. i'm 71 yrs old and have been a 13 hdcp. for 30 yrs., thnx for the help.

Adam at the top of the backswing how do you get your right forearm at 90゚ or straight-up-and-down much like the 1st lady golfer you showed.?

Out of the way ( Big Belly ) and underneath. Also missing the belly. Good video. Over here , Bavaria, my course was open until Dec. 2. Remarkably we are able to play longer each year. North West Bavaria, Unterfranken. Near Frankfurt. I could play today if the course was open. Again Danke for the many videos. Transplanted Texan

Space between right arm and body head to prevent casting in the downswing ? Have I got that right?
@Scratchgolfacademy4 жыл бұрын
Latif, I'm afraid it's no guarantee of the downswing, but generally it's easier to load the club and get on a good plane when in a strong position at the top. All the best, Adam

Hello Adam, I try to reach up and behind me with a ruler in my hand or better just a broken club shaft with the grip still on. I set up and just make a hip turn and in my shadow I can see the bend in my elbow and the space you mention between the head and arm. I get in trouble going too far outside on the way down, so I try to keep my right elbow tucked to the hip as long as I naturally can, on the way up.. If I am lucky, a few swings a round I look as good as anyone on televison!! The rest? Back to the drawing board!! Inconsistant!

This is a very individual thing. At 71 years of age I will be keeping my swing where it is-holding my hinge as much through impact as possible-the club will release naturally, lower, more horizontal, back elbow quite tight to my body and single plane. 79 today from the white tees...is just fine with me.

Andy I have a question! I have small hands as a woman. I noticed my grip on my 3 wood is 1/2 bigger where I grip than my driver. I hit my driver straight never does to fade to the right, unless I just hit it wrong. Could this big grip be my problem because I can’t grip it the same as my driver? Because I make good contact with the 3 wood when I hit it, but I grip is very uncomfortable than with my driver. Do you think that might be some of my problem?
@Scratchgolfacademy3 жыл бұрын
Linda, I’d definitely get the 3 wood re-gripped so it matches your driver (or close to it), it likely will help a lot. All the best, Am
@Lindabraggketovore3 жыл бұрын
Andy, thank you so much for answering me. I appreciate you taking time on this holiday to do so, but really wasn’t expecting it. I hope you had a great holiday weekend. I will definitely be getting it re-gripped tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your evening. God bless.

@@Scratchgolfacademy I disliked it, because you really don't explain how the right arm works in the swing. Are you trying to explain how the right arm just works in the backswing but NOT the downswing? If this is the case, why would you explain only 50% of the process?
@Philzzz12 жыл бұрын
sorry I didnt get it. Bang its in the right spot?????? Worst explanation I've ever heard on this subject.
