Finally! A golf coach that doesn't add useless minutes of verbal-waterboarding to the tutorial... Most coaches (even great ones) add 17 useless minutes talking about irrelevant chatter to a 7 minute training - so frustrating! I'm following this channel for sure! Great video, Coach!

I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago. YOU have my vote for Instructor of the Year! I am a 18 handicap and have averaged over 90 all year this year. After watching your video and keeping my left arm straight, my last two rounds were 85 (last week) and 76 (today). I hit 9 of 14 fairways and 12 of 18 greens in regulation. Thank you so much for adding joy to my favorite game. Now I need to work on my putting. Out of 12 GIRs, I only converted 3 to birdies and 8 to pars. I will study your putting instruction videos.

Adam, another great tip. I see so many players try to "throw" the club head away from them during the take away, rather than "push" the grip end toward the ground. I also think there are quite a few instructors that teach the wrong way to start the take away. You hit the nail on the head (as always). I also like how you address players who might not be as flexible as we once were. Brilliant.

This is the BEST VIDEO I've seen in years that shows clearly pushing down with the left pad to get the wrist to cock and keep the left arm straight. I have a very stiff back as I was a body buider so no much flexibility when trying to have my back facing target... I'm going to give this a try ASAP on the range, there is hope, thank you so much.

Best golf tip ever on how to have a straight left arm in the backswing. For years, I've tried to push away with my right arm to straighten my left with no success. Pushing that fat pad in the left hand down on the takeaway is a miracle worker. I ripped the ball. For example, on hole number 6, I drove the ball 265 yards on to the green and the putt was for an eagle which I missed! The next lesson will be putting!

I've been playing golf for ~50 years. The straight left arm always made sense to me, but I could never incorporate it into my game. For me, it was just too uncomfortable. I came across something this week (accidentally) that changed my golfing life and golf swing. It's this: Instead of trying to keep a straight left arm all the way going back in the backswing, I let my left arm straighten at the end of my backswing. And that's the only time, besides the beginning of the swing when my arm is straight. This little tweak has dramatically changed my swing and made me more consistent and straight.

Thanks so much. Quick question. Many teach a flat left wrist position at the top of the backswing. This pushing down on the handle on the way back seems to leave a cupped wrist at the top. Should I worry about that ?

Great video Adam, this was a doubt I had for the longest time about the right arm (I'm a left handed golfer) bend that I have and that pushing the heel of the club trick was fantastic. Does the slight bend have a significant impact?

Thanks Suresh. A slight bend in the lead arm is OK, ideally the energy transferring out to club through impact would straighten it out at that point. Best, Adam

Hi Adam. Another good training video. I have a question. I noticed that when you're gripping the handle, there is a sizable gap between your finger-tips and the thumb pad. The old school of thought was that the tips should just touch the pad or very close to it. Is your grip oversized for a reason?
@Scratchgolfacademy2 жыл бұрын
My grips are standard size. I’ll have to check when I get a club on my hands, but the gap doesn’t feel very big. All the best, Adam
