I’ve been in a gaming slump, I can’t even get myself to turn on my consoles but the steam deck has reignited by love for gaming because I can just game wherever I am. And I got my brother to download a buffy game I wanted to replay that’s not backwards compatible. I’m playing more in the last month then I did last year. It’s really amazing I’m having a blast

I got my Deck back in September, and I also have a full gaming desktop that can do 1440p high/ultra anything. Ever since I got the Deck, I barely touch the desktop anymore. Games look better on the bigger machine, but playing PC games in the recliner is such a relaxing experience at the end of the day. It's gotten me to think a lot more about how flexible PC gaming can be, and whether the continual hunt for more more more (frames, resolution, and higher settings, respectively) is really worth it. I thought it would be a fun supplemental product - it's taken my desktop's place. Absolutely love it.

Great video Emily! All of these reasons helped me decide to get my deck and I’ve been really happy with it. I like how you’ve customized yours as well; very unique! I’ve definitely experienced the handheld rabbit hole too😅It’s not that I ‘need’ any more handhelds but I’ve now picked up a Switch Lite for Nintendo exclusives and an Anbernic RG351V for some more childhood nostalgia too. Looking forward to more of your content!

If you are new owner of SD, this is my free, not so well known tip.... You can run games up to 4K resolution on Deck both internally and externally. On game page, wheel icon, Properties, General.... Set resolution both internal and external display. Now it is possible to choose higher resolution, above 1280x800. This is per game settings.

Been gaming since I was a kid. Got older got more into PC gaming... early 20s I was a college kid who gamed hard... now I am in my 30s and gaming just... hasn't hit the same in a very long time.I think a BIG piece of it is I love PC gaming.. But I work in IT so the idea of spending 8 to 9 hrs a day in front of a computer... to come home to spend another 6 hrs in front of a computer was just not appealing to me.. I could of gotten a console for sure but could never bring myself to do it. I tinkered with the idea of making a living room PC and have steam run in big picture mode and use it sort of like a console was a big consideration but... again I couldn't convince myself considering I had a really capable build... Technically I could of streamed my PC to the living room but the random artifacting would put me off. Que in the Steam deck... This thing has been gaming great again for me... The form factor is great... I can play games on my hr lunch break. I can sit in the couch and game.. I can go to the inlaws and after a short stint of adulting/mingling I can sit in a corner and game lol. I can get a few sessions in bed. I love this thing...Also the SteamOS environment feels so much like consoles I am actually caring about my achievements again and I got ALOT more social again my friends list went from like 3 people to 15... which may not sound huge but it has been fun seeing someone playing Monster Hunter Rise and just tossing them a random invite to get some sessions in.

The Steam Deck looks similar to the Nintendo Switch. It looks decent. Me and my best friend play the Original Wii and the Switch. We watched this and it was good to find out about it and see what it is about
