the different versions of the student six's elements is rlly intriguing to me, considering that in the finale we were shown definitive connections between the mane six and the students. at the end of the last episode of mlp, when the mane six were walking/flying across the screen revealing all the characters that were related to them in some way, the student six were in the groups that corresponded to a pony. laughter: silverstream / pinkie pie kindness: sandbar / fluttershy loyalty: smolder / rainbow dash honesty: yona / applejack generosity: ocellus / rarity magic: gallus / twilight which kinda confuses me when looking at the tests the spirit of harmony put the students through for the reasons pointed out in this video. idk what to make of it since there seems to be multiple different versions of the connections between the elements and the student six, but there was a canonical link from each mane six pony to one of the students.

They changed things up again, it happens. There were some toy sets of ponies with non-pony friends even back in the G1 days, like one of my fav pairings Lucky Leaf (unicorn) and Leafy (cute widdle moo cow). I gotta think, this union between ponies and non-ponies has to be back again someday. I'm sure this won't be the last of harmony between different kinds in My Little Pony.

l'm certainly glad it ended, I just wish these last two seasons were better (probably doesn't help that I didn't watch the movie). A show going on for too long is harmful for the show as a whole, and FiM had pretty much run its course.

I feel like the spirit of the tree makes a special connection with whoever connects to it For example the pillars were the first to use it As for the main 6 the tree gleemed in their coats and made the elements based of their cutie marks The sudent six had their own special connection with the tree which was not more special or worse than the others but im guessing the reason the tree choose to test the student six is because their still young so unlike the main 6 or pillars they would get into alot more issues since young people tend to get into issues which makes their friendships fade so the tree choose to help them bcuz unlike the main 6 they didn't have their families or the royal princesses to help them

I think this is how the student 6 will represent the elements: 1. Gallus: Magic Reason: We see that the other students we see are either students or teachers (I can't recall). Yona is a bit dangerous to leave the element of magic with and Sandbar.. well he's not qualified enough. Twilight wouldn't trust a student of hers with royal duties so early UNLESS they proved that they are trustworthy with magic and friendship. 2. Sandbar: Lotalty Reason: The tree of harmony tested his LOYALTY, not any other elements. And that's the same for the others who showed exact cobnections with the elements. 3. Silverstream: Laughter Reason: She treated Storm King as a joke when the Tree tested her. You know who else makes jokes? Pinkie Pie. And which element does she represent? Laughter. Kinda obvious. 4. Yona: Honesty Reason: Honesty us just fitting for her. I don't have a better reason- 5. Ocellus: Kindness 6. Smolder: Generousity Reason: Ocellus was kinder compared to being more generous. Let's see here. We have Ocellus and Smolder left to group. Smolder doesn't really fit kindness but Ocellus does. If anything, Smolder wasn't greedy like the other dragon and that's what makes her generous. Though this is just my thought on this. Feel free to give your opinions. Until next Frida-

personally, i think the elements of harmony were merely a conductor instead of actually being magic (to some degree). call me crazy but (for example with celestia) magic was used *with* the elements to banish nightmare moon to the moon, or (with the main six) the spark that triggered the elements to life was Twilight's realization about her friends (though i could be remembering that wrong-). there was (as far as I can remember off the top of my head) always something paired with the elements when they were in use, whether it was twilight and her friends working together to defeat a greater threat or celestia sending her sister to the moon or turning discord into stone and back. i could just be overthinking it but, at least to me, this makes (some) sense when you think about it.

Tbh I think the spirit of harmony was powerful enough to leave the tree (Yk take the form of twilight and move around freely etc) so the tree was indeed weak and soulless so it is logical for somber to appear there and destroy it so easily, plus the tree always does something like that when the mane 6 based their friendship/power and more on the fact that “we have the elements so we are gonna be alr”, I think it’s like the tree making them face the troubles themselves to understand it’s not the tree that’s magical and powerful but their friendship and harmony

discord is the more obvious candidate for destroying the tree in the episode Part 2 when sombra destroys the tree and the main 6 are met with having to face a challenge without elements discord sarcastically jokes about how they dont have the elements or princesses to help "oh my no elements? no princesses???, seems like your in a bit of a pickle I dont even have to explain myself on why he would send sombra to destroy the elements after he got defeated because the whole episode was caused by discord and just because sombra claimed "you lead me to the source of your power" dosent mean it actually happened as we dont really know if he knows who actually did it I think he was just assuming the tree did it while i think this is a good theory the only plothole is that if discord did do it then why didnt the tree respond???? but i feel like this video summed up the reason pretty well i dont think that the tree intended for it to happen but rather discord lead sombra to the tree in hopes to destroy the elements and the spirit of harmony simply didnt really care in putting up a fight because it wanted to break the chains away ofc i feel like its kind of a jump to say that the spirit of harmony would let it happen considering before that episode it protected itself from threats but its still either the tree or discord who did it still torn on who
