P2P lending gives me 6% at best and interest income is taxed at my marginal rate of taxation of 20%(my rate), this makes an effective interest rate of 4.8%, the default rate is about 2%, that makes the entire venture taxable at 2.8%, my SB rate of 2.75% give or take. It gives me the satisfaction of touching people’s lives directly, that’s all!
